Does RA only affect moveable joints? I'm having terrible pain below my left buttock, right where my leg starts. The whole area is painful, But i don't know if the pain is RA related. I went bikeriding 3 nights ago and now this area is killing me. Maybe it's just from the bike seat? I'm just so worried that the disease is going to rear it's ugly head again. Last summer was just awful!
I would say it is from the bike ride. I have never heard of it affecting that area. Hopefully others will chime in and give their .02 too. Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, sounds like the bicycling you done. But I could be wrong, I always amOf course, could be pressure on a different nerve in your L-spine. Or any number of things.
When my L-spine went completely goofy (how's that for a medical term?), I started having a lot of pain in that area that was also in my lower back and all the way down my leg. That usual indicates something in the sciatic area, but it could be other things.
If it's not better in a couple of days, or if it gets worse or you have other symptoms with it, you really should see your doctor.
