Linda

Depression and RA seem to go hand in hand. Many people with RA wind up on antidepressants..I should know lol I am one of them. Talk to your pcp or rheumy and tell them how you are feeling they can give you something to help you get through this tough time you are having...good luck and hang in there

Linda,  I swear to you, I don't know what was more debilitating, my ra or my depression.  They definitely go hand and hand.  I think a lot of it is the unpredictability of ra and how hard it is to make plans around ra.  I didn't want to go on anti depressants.  I am now on Prozac and I am sooooooooooooo much better.  It would be a real battle if anyone tried to take my Prozac from me now.

Depression makes you tired, ra makes you tired.  You can't beat them both.  Being tired makes you depressed.  See the cycle.  Get anti depressants!  Unlike all the ra meds, I have no side effects from prozac!  DEPRESSION SUCKS, please talk to your doc.  Anti depressants start working within the first couple weeks.

I agree with Roxy. Talk to your Dr and tell them how you are feeling and make sure they give you something to lift the depression. I take Paxil with no sideaffects and it has made my life much better. Good luck.

Barbthank you! I hate the depression, I always thought that I just had to deal with the depression. I will definately talk to my RD about it. I see him on Aug. 1. just being able to talk to people who understand what you're going thru helps.
LindaLinda, On Prozac  40 mg as well and it helps alot!  I agree with others; talk to your doc; you can get the help you need!  Good luck dear!
