I was reading the pamphlet that comes along with the MTX and it said that if you are on this medication you should wear a medical alert bracelet. Is this really necessary? If you wear one, where is a good place to get one?

Due to the many meds I take I keep a list in my purse which is always with me when I go out.  I just make it on the computer and adjust it as needed.  I think it is very important in the event I cannot speak for myself to have this list.

Take care

Like Bonny, I'm on too many medications that should be on the alert bracelet and can't fit them all on.  I carry a list in my purse and have one in the glove compartment.  If they're destroyed I don't think it will matter.  I can not do a medic alert bracelet either.  But I have a list in both cars and carry one with me of meds...dosages...and what they are for.  I also have my PCP's and rheumy's number on the list.  I also have a list in my wallet with dosages, as well as contact info for my PCP, rheumy, pharmacist, and family members, plus allergies, insurance info, etc.  It's quite a list, but you never know...Caprice,

I have a bracelet from the Medic Alert Organization (www.medicalert.org).  My bracelet is engraved with my medical condition (rheumatoid arthritis) and the drugs I'm allergic to.  It also states to call Medic Alert and gives the 800 toll free number.  On file Medic Alert has a list of all the drugs that I take, my Dr's number and my ICE contact.  You can update your drug list and/or contact list via the internet anytime changes are made.  It costs .95 initially to join and then yearly to maintain your membership.  They have a wide selection of bracelets and necklaces with some even looking like a nice piece of jewelry.  They also send you a card to carry in your wallet.  In addition to this, I also carry a list similar to InnerGlow's and my husband also carries a copy (I carry a copy of his).  Hope this helps.
