I know PMR pain is horrific but it does go away eventually. RA is for life.
Georgina....yours seems to be particularly bad and not helped much by pred. Did you say you are on MTX? It takes about 3 months to take effect.
I am on methotrexate and am having some side effects, so I do not know if I am going to be on it for very much longer, have a dr. appt thursdayMarianne, You may mean well, but you are pouring salt on our wounds. Don't minimize our pain. Just because RA doesn't "go away" doesn't make PMR less painful. Maybe your PMR was not as severe as some of us have suffered, and I'm truly happy that your's is gone Many people on this forum who have both PMR and RA say the PMR is much worse. I think Georgianna has had as much or more pain than any one who posts here for so many years. It has been truly debilitating for some of us. Even destroyed the lives we've always known.
I hope this doesn't sound too mean. It's just that we all need understanding and compassion until this thing goes away, if indeed it ever does. Some of us are beginning to wonder.
hello feeling so much better to-day, taking Aleve (first time for me)Oh I don;t mean to minmize your pain. If on eperson knows how excruciating PMR is it is me Betsy . I thought this revelation would make you feel slightly more hopefull . knowing that PMR is known to go away and that if it does, you are done rather than having to face RA for life!!! I had PMR really really bad...so bad I wanted to DIE so pls don;t tell me I am minimizing your pain! I know all too well!
