I am how about to start shiftwork (including night shifts) & want to know how shift work affects RA?

with shift work it is easy to not eat ,sleep, or exercise properly.  Take care of those  things and it will be no different than any other job.  I survived many years of working 3rd shift

Personally,

I think that shift work is very hard on RA.  if you are one who can completely conform to night shift, you might be o.k.  It really depends on your schedule, your body, etc.  I work 11a.m to 7:30 p.m. it works great until they throw a day or evening shift into the mix, then I get way off kilter.

As you know, stress is very bad for RA, so be sure to get your rest, nutrition and stress relief.  I'm interested to know how you do on shift work.   Keep us posted!

Phats

I worked 3rd shift for about 5 yrs. and it was ok if I didn't have some kind of business to take care of during the day.  If my sleep was interrupted, I would hurt.  Usually I worked until 7:00am Saturday morning, went home, slept a couple of hrs., then tried to get up and live like a normal person with weekends off.  I would be so tired on Mon. and Tues. and I just had to start sleeping my full 8 hrs. on Saturday.
