I am headed off to southern West Virginia tomorrow to spend a week with my mom.  I haven't been there in a year and a half, and I really feel guilty about it.

So it's time to reconnect with family.  Got lots of cousins to visit,

It will be nice to be like Paris and live the simple life for awhile!

I can't say I'm looking forward to the 12 hour drive though.  I wish I could be like Captain Kirk and say "Beam me home, Scotty".  I am going by myself, because everyone else has to work.  But once I get rolling and get "into the zone" I'll be fine.  I'll be going through NY, PA, MD, and VA on my way, so I'll wave at everyone as I go by!

Have a fantastic trip home.  I understand about the long trip, mine is 24 hours in the air.  I was home in October and really enjoyed seeing aunts and uncles and asking questions about family history (I'm the self appointed family historian).

Enjoy spending time with your family. Its precious time that can never be replaced.

Hillhoney, have a wonderful time in West Virginia.  I was born in West Virginia but raised outside Wasington D.C.  W.V. is actually one of my favorite places and I think it's one of the most beautiful states.  It's like a little hidden forest paradise that people don't ever think of going to but is so beautiful.  Have a safe trip and enjoy your family.  LindyHave fun!! West VA. is beautiful! I live in SW Virginia so all I have to do is cross the
border. My best friend live in Lexington KY so I drive through W. VA 4 or
5 times a year. The New River Valley Gorge is awesome with the bridge
spanning it. I went white water rafting once and we went right under it.

Have fun

BeckyBecky, I actually have a Revolutionary War ancestor buried in Thompson Valley near Tazewell.  We went to visit his farm and his grave, and I think it is one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen.  So SW Virginia is beautiful too!OMG hill the song you put in your subject is awesome!! It's funny though cause my family would sing that all the time... Have fun :)Hillhoney...do be careful traveling alone and carry all the things you would need if you were to face any problems. Sorry for being a downer, just the mothering in me I guess.

Have a blast and enjoy your mother!
