OT: Annoying Phone Calls | Arthritis Information

Share

Ok who all on this board gets a phone call saying "Hello. This is an important call about information for senior citizens."

I get these calls at least 2-3 times a week, and my mother who is a senior citizen does not even get these calls.

I guess I am considered old

I get these call Joonie but they always say "Hello, this is an important business call about your delinquint account....

JUST FOOLIN', haven't gotten one of those in a while

Oh we also keep getting calls from "Insurance Brotherhood of America". They call at least 2-3 times a week as well and sometimes 2 times a day. One in the morning and one in the evening.

How about The Police Benevolence Fund

Ha I just hand the phone to my 10 year old son and his friends and let them have at the caller. It's hysterical!

Joonie, have you ever signed up for the National "Do Not Call" Registry?  It has cut my annoying calls down drastically.  Charities are still permitted to call you, and so are any companies you already have an established relationship with.  In Connecticut they have even passed a law eliminating the political campaign phone calls

Any hoo, if you or anyone else needs the link to sign up, it is:

Now if a telemarketer calls me, I say "Oh wow, you've really screwed up no.  I am on the Do Not Call list and you are breaking the law".  Then they hang up on me!

When charitable organizations call I say, "You know I am really glad you called, because I would like to tell you about the fundraising I am involved with for an organization I belong to.  Would you like to hear about us?"  Then they hang up on me too!

I just like it when my daughter answers the phone and it is a recording and she will stand there and say "hello" like 50 billion times, and then she will get tired eventually and say "Mom it is for you!" and I will ask who it is and she will say "Say I do not know they just keep talking."
