pain management visit.... | Arthritis Information

I went in on Wens afternoon. Am now on a time-release med....and other than feeling like i"m going to be sick to my stomach constantly, it seems to be working on the pain. (and PM wouldn't give me anti-nausea meds...had to get that from my PCP!)

Also, DH and I have been having a rockin' good ole time (Liz, you know why!! hahahahaha). He's not thrilled about me being on MS Contin, BUT, hhe sure isn't complaining about the fact that he's gotten more action in the past week than he has all year. LOL.

I'm paying for it though. My hips & knees today, OMG. Today was a day that I needed breakthrough pain meds. *sighs* Worth it though.

Those time release meds for pain are good but they do make you feel a bit yukk.I was on them but only for a little while and gradually reduced the amount until i didnt take them at all. I had the side effect of a sense of well being all the time so I know that they could have become addictive.

Ohh, I wish I had the "well being" side effect!!! Not here. Just an icky feeling. I didn't even feel good enough to go pick up my anti-nausea meds yesterday!! (the pharmacist called me this morning to see if I needed "delivery". I was seriously tempted to take him up on it...but I need baby formula anyway. lol)

Kids need to nap so I can run out. My eyes are SO sensitive to the sun too!!!

The nausea should go away shortly.  It is one of the icky side effects we have to put up with.  In the meantime, do your anti nausea meds.  I really hate that we have to give one thing to get better.  Really sucks.  However, in the long run, you will be better off since you are finally sleeping and now have a very happy hubbie lol.

Try to explain to hubby about the benefits of time released pain control.  None of us are ever happy about changing pain meds and going to something a little stronger, but sometimes we have to so we can have some quality of life.

You are making some changes since starting the time release pain meds.  You have been much more relaxed (the effects of sleep and happy hubbie lol) and that in itself is a huge change from say 2 weeks ago.  So there is something positive you can tell hubby about time release pain meds.
