My eldest daughter works in London and it has always worried me but more so today as we have the dreaded car bombs that were found.I know they can be found anywhere but London is such a target especially now as we have a new prime minister.

She isnt overly worried but that comes with the age ( shes 19)but she could be off to Dubai in September for a 6 month work stint ( she works in conveyencing law) so now i'm worried about that. Do mums ever stop worrying????? lisa
i have worried about my daughter from the minute she was born... and it will go on and on and on and on....   for me, it just comes with the territory!    sounds like your daughter is doing really well for herself, you should be proud!
dubai is an okay place to work... i ve known people work there for a number of years including a cousin ... its not quite algeria !

Nope, we will never stop worrying.  Ever.  I worry when they go away overnight.  They are going for 3 days in July for a nanny job.  On one hand it will be nice and peaceful since it falls over birthday that they will be gone...but on the other hand...I will still be worried and prolly calling all the time lol.

Lisa, I would be worried, too. My daughters are definitely not "kids" anymore, but they are always going to be "my kids".

I am so sorry about the car bombs and threats that have been happening in your country. It must be difficult to live with that fear.

But you know, when we were 19, I know we didn't worry about things as much as we do now.

I worry if my girls take a car trip a few hours from home. That's just how it is with Moms. And I hope I'm not the only one who feels it necessary to give their grown kids advice on driving

They both live within a mile of us. One is a block away on the same street.

I must tell you, though, that if one of them said she was going to work in Dubai, I would worry. I think it worrying just comes with being a Mom.

Take care.

Hugs, Nini

Oh Pin and Anna and anyone else here close to the intended  bomb site PLEASE be safe. This is sooo scary. Make your kids stay out of town for a few days if you can. Do any of you live or work close to this area?  Please be careful!!

YAY FOR MUMS

Genesis- We live about half hours drive from central London but my daughter works within 5 mins of the second car bomb that was found. She travels by train to work as its easier and quicker than car so hopefully they dont attack our underground again but we cant live in fear or we'd never go out. Hubby was on the underground when we had the awful bombs go off in London, he wasnt injured thank goodness but I couldnt get hold of him all day as the mobile phone lines were so congested and he couldnt get to a landline. It was the worse day of my life.
