Curious - I take 17.5 mg of MTX along with my other drugs. I noticed last year that I got no mosquito bites. I am usually a magnet for them. My DIL was on heavy chemo for cancer and she did not get them either. I was wondering if anyone else noticed less bites while on MTX.

I have not heard that, but I am writing an epidemiology report on mosquitos and West Nile virus for a class and if I come across anything I will post it.Thanks Mary.
I figure whatever the chemical is must be reacting with my body to repel the skeeters. Or........... it is just that I am not fun to bite anymore, they are tired of me LOL.
I don't get bit either. During blackfly season (I live in the Adirondacks) EVERYONE wears some form of bug dope all day long if they have to go outside, and they still get bit. I did have one bite me slightly, but it immediately died. I guess we're toxic!!!How much mtx do you take? I just wonder if there is a magic level.
ya know, now that you mention it, i havnet gotten many bug bites either since being on mtx..hmm i guess its good for something then

I still got bit when we were in the tropics and I was on 20mg. MXT. In the desert now and haven't seen any of the skeeters.
I take MTX from 6 weeks and metil-prednisolon and waiting for HUMIRA or maybe for a wonder.I don't have pain but i have destructions of my joints..Shall i be an optimistic person ?
