Hi
Im a 26 yer old female who's new to all this, so you may have to bear with me !
After 3 painful years of no answers, i was refered to a Rheumatologist who has confirmed I have artritis and have started to take Sulfasalazine (not yet working)
I suffer pain in wrists, hips, ankle and shoulder and I am so fed up with it!!!
Its sooo nice to be able to finally talk to people who are going through the same sort of thing as me.........
Hope to get to know you all better Hey ClickyHips, I like your screen name! I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis
so you can be proactive about your RA, although it does suck to have RA.
Don't be freaked out, though. Many people have pretty normal fulfilling lives
even with RA, and there are many treatment options.
Hi and welcome to the board!! I love your name!
Hi Clickyhips, welcome , welcome welcome!! My gosh I know just how you feel about the pain and 'waiting' for the super meds to work for you.
We are usually given Prednisone (but read about it first), until the other meds help us. A small amount like 5mgs for a week, then 4,3,2,1, O.....might really get you over the rough time you have to wait. Lots of people will write with their opinion and you'll get some great suggestions.
Everyone told me to 'be patient', I wasn't, but eventually the drugs I'm taking have worked. Good luck with sorting all of this out, it is a shock to be dx ed, then the meds are unfamiliar (can hardly spell them sometimes!) and the worst part is they take so dang long to help you.....take care, Lynda
Hello hello! Sorry you have to have this crappy disease, but YAY that there's another 20-something in here with me and Joonie and Shannon.......*gulp* If I forgot to mention another 20-something I'm gonna get reamed...haha sorry guys!!!
Hope to see you around more!! :)
Hi Clickyhips! We must be related - I've got clickyknees.
Anyway - welcome. You'll find information and understanding here!

Welcome to the board! Don't worry-of course we will bear with you! WeWelcome to the board, clickyhips! BTW I like your username Hi Clicky and welcom to the board. I have many clicky joints but I want to let you know that meds can help you. It's taken me 3 years to get control of RA. After many cocktails and adjustments I've reached the point where I'm relatively pain free and very little inflammation. It will happen - have patience. Sometimes it takes a while. LindyWelcome aboard! Welcome, so sorry you have to be here, but glad you found us Let me just say, you are in the right place. I, myself, look forward to reading and writing posts because we are all in the some boat. EVERYONE here is so very helpful and kind.
Hi Clickyhips! Your name made me smile!! There are several new people here, I'm one of them. And it's true. Everyone has been so kind and patient and helpful to me. I think you'll be very happy you found this board.

Hello - welcome to the boards. I am new here myself. I'm 32 and have had arthritis for 17 years. It will get better. Just hang in there. I used to hardly be able to move at all - couldn't go up and down stairs, etc. It was all I could do just to sit down and get myself back up but now I have the right combo of meds and my life has done a 180 turn. I'm active and feel better than ever.Hi Clickyhips...glad you're here, but sorry you have to be. I was dx'd in April and am still the same. Unfortunately, it takes awhile to figure out what works for you personally when it comes to the medsHi Clickyhips, best wishes on your ra journey. Things will get better once you find the right combo of meds. Be careful carrying your babes. They soon will get used to how you can/can't do things. My kids are 14 and 19 and are much older but when I was dx'd two years ago, they are so much help and considerate. My son is better than daughter. She's older and works and go to college and has a very busy life. Have your 3 year old be your little helper and go upstairs to get what you need. Be creative and ask lots of questions. People here have been dealing with the same thing and have lots of good ideas and advice.
welcome
