Can anone tell me if the plaquenel nausea goes away after your body is used to it?

Been on 200mg for a week now and I feel Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for the icky side effects to go away from a med.  Blech.  If the nausea does not go away you can try to talk to your doc about an anti nausea med.

I hope this goes away for you quickly.  Nausea is the pits.

Unfortunately, nausea is a side effect of many of the DMARD/Biologics we take, but many times the body adjusts to the medication, and after several weeks it does go away. As long as you're not vomiting and becoming dehydraded, I'd give it another couple of weeks before talking to your RD about the possibility of switching to something else.

Hope the Plaquenil works for you and you start feeling better soon!

Marianne, I forgot that I also take Protonix every morning, to keep from messing up my stomach, because of all the different meds I take. That could also be why it doesn't bother me so much.

Grammaskittles is right about calling the doc. Hope you feel better. I hate that feeling ,too.

No experience with Plaquenil, but I did have similar problems with MTX.  The good news is that it did get better after a few months...not all at once but the frequency and duration slowly lessened.  Good luck!
