Sheila Sheila, I went to see gps for six months before seeing a rheumy. Prednisone can give you relief until you get to see a rheumy. I have never been to North Carolina but you sure had a handsome senator I am trying to get in to see a reheumy. at Wake forest Univ. Hospital.A Dr. O'Rourke.I have to get my dr. to send a referral,I know he will.I hope to get in soon.It is about a 45 min. drive but I don't mind.I hope I get a good dr.![]() A good Rheum... is worth their weight in gold and most definitely worth a 45min drive. I currently live 369miles from my Rheum... I have been going to her for 23 years and when I moved I just kept her and she works with my Internist here where I live. I see her 1 time a year, unless something urgent comes up before then. This works for me because of the longtime relationship I have had with her. Good luck to you. Barb October is quite a way away. I guess you guys over there have a very different system to what we do over here. I agree with Roxy! If you are in alot of pain right now, so much so that you can't do every day activities then it might be best to go to your GP and explain your situation. He may be able to give you a short term course of Preds to stop the pain and any further damage being caused. SHEILIA, THAT'S TOO LONG TO WAIT. CAN YOUR MD REFER YOU TO SOMEONE. SOMETIMES THEY CAN GET YOU INTO A SPECIALIST SOONER IF THEY CALL! wORTH A TRY!! GOOD LUCK GIRL!!Oct is a long time to be in pain, hopefully you can see someone else sooner than that. Vicodin helped some with my pain but was not real effect with me either. Hope you feel better soon hon! Shawnie |
