Anti-Inflammatory Baths | Arthritis Information

I have been told to start taking Epsom Salt Baths to decrease inflammation. I also read that people add baking soda to the water as well. Has anyone tried this??

I am going up right now to skin brush and bathe. I am hoping the magnesium in the epsom salts work magic!!

Never heard of it but good luck and let us know how you do.

i buy my epsom salts from a large chemist (drug store ) in uk and put half a box in a bath when im feeling bad and soak for 30 minutes.  its supposed to be anti-inflammatory and detoxing.  whether these things actually work or not I dont know!!! but it does make me feel better.
by the way, make sure the epsom salts you use are for personal use and not industrial!  there are two types of epsom salts!
ive also been told that you shouldn't do it more than twice a week.

anna_uk39265.5674884259Let us know Gena!  I have a box of Epsom Salts but have never went through the trouble to do the bath yet, lazy me.MMMMmmm....I love espom salt baths and I always have a large bucket of
salt on hand.

I tried this when Anna told me about it and it makes me feel lots better. My aunt swears by the epsom salts too.

I started using this a couple of weeks ago and I do actually feel a little better.
Thankyou

a guy I talked to who is suffering horribly from Fibro, said he went to a spa a soaked in a 'thick' tub of epsom salts? I'll surely try this as I love the 'old fashioned' remedies. Is it itchy on your skin? I have really dry skin. Lynda

Like Gena I have read lots of times about the lack of magnesium being connected to R/A.
Cant hurt to try.

Gena,

Epsom salt baths are great.  They are also good for removing toxins from the body.  Some people use epsom salts and peroxide.  After getting home from the hospital after stem cell, I could not wait to soak and get all that yucky chemo out of my system.

If you are into alternative it is advisable to remove aluminum from your body as people with RA normally have high AL.  That would mean getting rid of OTC toothpaste and deordant.  Also no cooking in aluminum pots and pans.  Health food stores carry Tom's toothpaste and the crystal works good for deordant.

There's a great (old) book out that has alot of good advice concerning people with RA:

PRESCRIPTION FOR NUTRITIONAL HEALING

Good luck on your journey but also keep in mind some alternative stuff is a bunch of DOO DOO :)
