Welcome to AI drawf. Glad you're here.

Sounds like you are getting yourself informed and that's never a bad thing. Good Luck to you as you begin your journey. A positive relationship with a medical practice is a great first step.

Hope to see more of you here.

I'm all for getting specialized treatment when necessary  But I don't think, just by looking at the website, that this place is the way to go.   Be very wary of anyplace that won't provide a person to contact, address and phone number on the websites.  This place specializes in medical tourism.  Their goal is to get surgery patients not really to provide on going care.  Not that you would want to travel overseas every 2 months to see your doctor.

Is there a reason you feel you cannot get quality treatment from your current doctor or one in your area

I'm with buckeye.  I'd be very wary of this organization.  I'd probably do a little more research and find out all you can about these guys.  I've been dealing with arthritis "specialists" for a long time and this website kinda sends up a "red flag" to me.  Good Luck in whatever you decide!Hi , I was going to say what a luxery it would be to go to a 'clinic' that specializes in this dang disease, but after reading from bingethinker and buckeye, I guess I'd be cautious. There are a lot of  'alternative' methods for treating this disease and I believe what the RA doc's are doing for us is the best. there are so many drugs available to make us comfortable and stop the joint destruction. good luck though it sounds like you are exploring all options.(I'd just like to be able to go to a health spa everyday and be pampered, massaged, whirl pooled, served lunch beside the pool, etc. HA , ha!!) LyndaNope, I would not go there. I would go to a rheumy in your area who has a good reputation and see what he/she can do for you. This place that you are looking at is mostly for surgery and if you do not need it, they will do it anyway just for the money.  Surgery for RA patients is usually way down the road, if at all.  Don't waste your money and time on this place.
Good luck with whatever you do and please keep in touch with us as we do care about you and your RA.
I agree with all of the above.  LindyIt's kind of creepy they won't even tell you what country it's in---they just
say "your point of destination".

Try here to find a Rheumatologist near you.

Joonie, thanks for the address for rheumy's.  There are more in my State than I thought.

Welcome to the board!

I have to agree with what buckeye and everyone else has said.  Be very wary of this place.  It really does smack of medical tourism.  I have an article about that I will be happy to email to you about medical tourism if you would like to read it.  It might give you a little bit more understanding of what we mean by the term "medical tourism."  Really think about what people here have said already.  These people basically want to make money off of you for finding healthcare for you.  And it may not be the best health care possible or in your area.

Joonie provided a great resource for finding a rheumy.  Thanks Joonie!!!

Look forward to hearing more about you and from you!  Good luck with your decision on choosing your health care provider.  Please ask any questions that you may have.  You will find lots of caring and very knowledgeable people here.

If you really want some answers at a clinic...try the Mayo Clinic.

Can you PM/email me that too, please?
