This is what I saw over the back fence a minute ago.  The lady has bird feeders and I LOVE mornings cause I get to watch this.

Wow, how wonderful it must be to wake up to those beautiful birds every morning.  Thank you so much for sharing the photos.

Are they loud?

WOW!  I *love* that bird.  I don't even know what it is, but it is sooo beautiful.  Thanks for sharing.  What a great way to start the day.

Phats

That is such a pretty bird! I hope it doesn't entertain you with it's singing
too early in the morning!

beckyThis is some kind of parrot? Got lose? What a beauty. Lynda

This is a Rainbow Lorikeet.  They fly wild around here along with the big white Cockatoos,  The lorikeets aren't noisy but the cockatoos....WOW  they have a very loud raucus screech.  But its kind of nice to listen to them, like they are having fun.

I just find it a nice way to start the morning, with a cup of tea, slowly waking up, (I'm not a morning person) and while I unstiffen my hands.  I get to sit and watch the antics of the birds.

Pammy, what beauties they are.  Incredible colors. I just may have to incorporate that beautiful bird into one of my small paintings that I'm trying to complete.  Thanks for sharing.  LindyShare your painting when you are done!!!wow! where do you live to have such birds flying around????

I live in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.  Right next to the Dandenong Ranges and State and National Parks.

Wow Pammy your picts are way cool! I love bird watching but I've never seen anything like this in the wild ever. You must have an awesome camera too! Please post more candid wildlife shots, after all you are in Australia!! You make Steve Irwin (
DH's supposed to go to Perth anytime for business....and he's trying to talk me into going too. THe 19-hr plane ride though, ugh!! But maybe to see a bird like that...could  be worth it!

Quick, tell me it's not that pretty in Perth! LOL
Sorry, Perth is beautiful. Those Pictures are wonderful Pam, you are so lucky to have that on your doorstep, it would make me want to get up in the morningROSE

The birds are one of the reasons I don't come back to Canada.  Along with the snow, and some other stuff.  Drop in whenever you want

Beautiful pictures...thanks for sharing! In my humble opinion, finding respite from the daily grind of dealing with this disease in the beauty of nature is certainly not "off topic".  I wish more people would share some of the little ways they find joy in the midst of their struggles.

Alan

I am always amazed at the bright colored birds and the kinds of birds that are wild down in Australia.  I never get tired of looking at them.

And to think...we get excited when we see a Robin in the spring lol.

Oh, I'm so jealous. I would love to see that. We have an albino magpie
living in our back yard. He has been chewing on road kill for the past two
days and fighting off anything that gets in his way, lol. Oh well.WOW A Jerry Garcia bird..Very rare !!!
