tai chi and pmr | Arthritis Information

Has anyone tried tai chi?   I tought it might be gentle exercise that would
help.   I had an individual session yesterday eveing, and had told the tutor
about my pmr beforehand, so he was aware of the issues. I called a halt
after half an hour because I felt achy.

I woke up this morning stiffer than I have for months! So do I persevere, or
carry on for a bit and see how it goes.? (I had moved a lot of very heavy
parcels in the morning, so it could have been that)

Hi Margaret,

I do weights and Pilates.  I am always very sore during and the next day.  But it goes away and dosen't seem to get any worse.  I even continued with it during my worst flare-ups. I managed ok.  Both trainer are aware of my pmr.

Hi Margaret..no, I haven't tried it yet but it is on my list of things to do once my granddaughter starts pre-school in the fall.  It sounds like it should be good for us??  Please let me know how it goes after another session or so...take care!  thanks for the encouragement Susan, I'll stick with it! Hi Gma - I'm not
having another session for 2 weeks as I'm going on holiday, but he gave me
some exercises to do to practice, quite a lot of them sitting down - so I'll do
those.

cheers

MargaretI am looking into Feldenkrais has anyone tried it? I think it is much gentler
than Pilates or Tai Chi (which i didn't like before I had PMR) I have always
been very active and a 187 mile bike trip 3 weeks ago seemed to help the
pain & stiffness (combined with much meds and stretching!)
Feel well
