I had toe joint replacement of the big toe last week. I am having foot spasms and wonder if this is typical.

I hope the spasms stop soon. I dislike those lil boogers I wish I could help you, but unfortunately am facing the same thing in the near future. I have just not been able to bring myself to go back to my podiatrist as I know that is what is the next step. I am sorry you are in so much pain and hope it eases up soon.

OUch. I sure feel for you. I have not had toe surgery at all, but when I have had my knee surgeries I have always had some spasms afterwards. I would imagine it is from them going in there and mucking around with everything and using those muscles again the right way.
Hope they go away for you soon!! If you get real concerned about it call your doc and ask them about it.
