NO MEDS FOR ME | Arthritis Information

I am not on any meds ( apart from antibiotics)at all at the moment. I have had injections into my joints but I have to get this infection under control and I am going to miss my Humira for a month.I will be reviewed by my Rheumy in 2 weeks and I am being referred to a treatment centre in London for pain control and pool therapy. I am scared about going without anything to buffer the damage to my joints but I am going to try a few alternative therapies as I have an extremely low tolerance to medicines.I will try anything within reason and legal so "watch this space". Its a shame really as the humira did help with the pain and inflamation to my joints, I thought I was a new woman

I hope your infection goes away and stays away. and that the month off meds will go by really REALLY fast for you. I know it will not, but if you sleep most of the time away... it does seem to make it go by a little faster, and eventually you forget what day it is and then before you know it a month will be over with and back on some meds you will go.

Good Luck with the alternative therapies, hope they help you out.

I know oyu hate to be off.....but stay off until it's all better. If not it will only prolong it. What about predisone? When I was so sick and off my meds they gave me a really strong, short course and it really helped when nothing else would. Even for the bronchitis. That's stuffs amazing really.

Hang in there.

Hi Lisa, I'm sorry you have to be off the meds, if they are making you feel better. I have had aqua therapy as physical therapy for my hip and back, however I was also on pain meds at the time. Maybe they will add some pain meds for you along with your pool therapy.

If the water is about 93 degrees, I found that it really eased my pain. Any cooler than that, and it made my joints ache. But if it is a pain center I am sure they will have warm water.

Good luck! Let us know how it works.

Hugs,

Nini

Hope all goes well for you Lisa and am praying you won't go into a bad flare. Take it slow and easy so you don't hurt yourself. I believe I would get some pred. like Joonie suggested Take it slow and easy and I am happy to see you explore alternative treatments.

I know it really bites to be off the meds...but you have to be able to get over this infection.

((((hugs))))) sweetie!!!

PIN CUSHION  - NATURAL TNF REDUCERS OF INFLAMMATION

Just read an article that I posted from a doctor on NATURAL TNF reducers. Try MSM, plant sterols (moducare)  they are supposed to reduce TNF which would decrease some of the inflammation if you have to be off the biologic injections. I am going to take them with my new beginning of Humira, I already asked rheumatologist about them, especially the plant sterols.

recommended for autoimmune conditions, which I take daily anyway is Vitamin E  Flavonoids, Vitamin C  SAMe  Wobenzme, Magnesium  Fish capsules 3-6 grams daily.

The natural remedies proven to reduce TNF are

DAIDZEIN AND SOY ISOFLAVONES, STEROLS LIKE MODUCARE DECREASE INFLAMMATORY FACTORS..DEVILS CLAW, CURCUMIN, GINGER, DIGSTIVE ENZYMES ARE BACKED BY RESEARCH TO LOWER TNF WHICH IS OUR MAIN PROBLEM.  SO ARE THE AMINO ACIDS OF MSM, NAC AND SAMe.

I order from Swanson Vitamins but you can get anywhere else on line for it's cheaper than health food stores.  Can't hurt. It may help you through when you cannot take the Enbrel.
