I feel good: AP Therapy Update | Arthritis Information

So for the last few weeks I have been on what appears to be my ideal dose of Minocin (for now) which is 150mg every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My improvement since beginning Minocin has been amazing. My depression is gone. My fatugue is greatly reduced. My pain is much less. My ESR is 4. But I have heard that MTX can continue improving your condition for up to a year from when you begin taking it, and I began last August so I still don't know what's making me feel so great. I strongly suspect it is the Minocin as my condition gets better or worse in direct response to dose changes.

I started mtx at 20mg and have taken that dose every week without fail. Today, after experiencing 3 completely pain free, fatigue free days in a row, I have reduced my mtx by 2.5mgs. I will stay on this 17.5mg dose for the next 6 weeks and if all goes well will then reduce my mtx by another 2.5mgs and so on and so on.

To celebrate I took my bike into the shop for repairs. My goal is to ride my bike. I think I'm ready for a spin around the block.

I will continue to post periodic updates on how my AP is doing, for those interested.

Yea!

I want to hear about the bike ride!

Pip

Well, I will tell you all about it but my bike won't be ready until next Wednesday. Glad AP seems to be working for you Gimpy! I hope you have a nice bike ride, oh and watch out for those durn potholes! That is great news!  Have fun riding.  I am thinking about a recumbent bike to ride on the river trails.  We have rented them before and they are so comfortable to ride.  I have had carpal and cubital tunnel repair and just can't ride a normal bike.

Awesome news GoGo! PLEASE keep us updated!!

Hi Gimpy, am really glad to hear that the meds are working.  I've also reduced my MXT from 20 mg. to 17.5 and seem to be doing great.  I plan on reducing again by 2.5 mg about a month post op. If all goes well I'll reduce 2.5mg every 4 weeks.  Good luck to all of us.  Lindy

Go, go-go-- It's your bike day

Hehe-- Did you hear the music?
