Upper chest pain | Arthritis Information

Dear All,

I was just wondering if anyone experiences this upper chest pain that I feel. I am actually really starting to feel well again. On Prednisilone 3mgm ( prednisone) daily and Methotrexate 25mgm  IMI  weekly. I do not have the awful fatigue, I am walking well, for 45mins fast and generally feeling that I am beating PMR.

But last night especially and tonight, I have this pain, like sore muscles across my upper chest. It is not related to breathing, it feels achy to touch and also to move in bed. It is much improved in the am.

I have had this before when the PMR symptoms were worse, but can not understand why now?

Just when you think you have it figured out, it throws some other symptom at you.   Just taking paracetamol 2   am and pm.

Anyone else        Zali Sometimes I wonder if other non-pmr pains are masked by pmr pain, and when the pred clears the pmr pain, the other sort seems to leap out at us. I know that with me when I started taking the pred the stiffness and arm/shoulder/neck pain vanished, but I suddenly really felt middle-back spine pain and other osteo pain in my lower back sacro joints etc.  think that pain was there all along, but became much more pronounced when the other pain went. I notice too that any other garden-variety pain seems more obvious now that the pmr pain is gone. Weird. I hope your chest pain resovles quickly. Sounds like those little rib/breast bone joints that are hurting. I get that occasionally too. OR maybe, as you are feeling much better, you have actually overdone it with some activity somehow? And the chest muscle pain is just garden-variety pain from overdoing it? Hi Chico,
Think you may have picked it! The usual garden- variety pain.
I did some raking  of leaves, 'cos i was feeling soooo good, but did not really want to think that something as simple as that could strain those little inter-costals. Strained or telling me something????
I chose to ignore it and on the weekend , with no  downward turns in health, except a little extra sleep in, I walked 1 1/2 hrs sat. and 2 hrs Sun.
Hooray, and Monday started doing alternate days of 3 and 2 1/2 mgms Prednisilone.
Keep on keeping on and we will beat this.   Zali As I have said on several other threads, I was just diagnosed this am. Last
summer (yeas a year ago) whenthe syptmons first started, the type of chest
muscle pain you describe was my wost symptom
