Yeah, I know I'm going to feel silly when I find out, like, oh yeah, duh. Still, I must know.

Linda

OT = off topic, meaning not talking about ra or ra related stuff! Ahhhh......thank you for solving this mystery.I thought it stood for Oppositional Thread

Totally not related, but did I ever tell you guys about my experience with EBM?  I used to go to a new mom's board, and all the women were talking about breastfeeding. They said that if you weren't able to breastfeed, the best thing was EBM. I had health issues and had to stop breastfeeding, so I was determined to find this EBM formula. I went to Babies R Us and asked several employees, none of whom knew what I was talking about. I finally was put in touch with the manager and she asked me where I heard about it. I told her about it was good if you couldn't breastfeed, etc. She started laughing and told me that EBM stood for Espressed Breast Milk.

one day I'll tell you about the dead man's sperm story....

Ok. One day is now.

Before I went to the new mom's board, I went to a board dealing with infertility. The first day there, I read a post about this one lady who was using her dh's sperm for an insemination. I was shocked, but intrigued. In the field of work I'm in, dh is shorthand for deceased husband. I thought that was so brave and sweet of her. It got weird though, when I started reading the replies to her post and saw that about 20+ women were all using their dh's sperm for insemination. How did all these men die? Why did they all save their sperm before death? I was baffled, yet intrigued. Turns out, not as interesting as I though. Dh stood for "dear husband".

grrrrrr

One last post here.

Several months ago I went to Einstein Bagels. I got to the register with my bagel and cream cheese and the cashier asked me sweetly if I'd like a free topiary to go with that. SCORE! I thought it an odd thing to give away with a bagel, but what the heck, who WOULDN'T want a free topiary! I said, "yes, thank you so much!". She asked me what flavor. ...........HUH? flavor?........I asked her what she meant and she held up several different bottles and asked which one I wanted. It was the drink Fruitopia. So much for my free topiary.

Your dead man's sperm post made me laugh! That's funny! Oh man...great stories.  Thanks for sharing!!!

Lol, it takes me awhile to figure out all these short forms too.

The sperm one was great.....

PMSL @ Julia's EBM story, I'll come back later to read about dead mans sperm. Btw, belated welcome

I always think 'old testament' when I see OT - once a convent girl eh?

Right now I'm off for a swim.

Juliah, those stories are so funny

Things like that, especially misunderstood or misread words, are a running joke in my family.

I tend to read things very fast and occasionally it makes for some pretty strange phrases. My "DH" and I were on a long drive somewhere, long ago, and I saw a billboard for a restaurant with " mequite char-broiled" in the title. I said to my husband " Did you see that?! Charcoal broiled Mesquitoes?! EEEW!!.

He didn't miss a beat... He said "It would take a lot of those little suckers to fill me up"

To this day, he brings it up everytime I read a billboard to him.

My goodness nini, I laughed so hard reading your post, in fact I'm still giggling. I love your hubby's replyHilarious!!!  You guys cracked me up![QUOTE=JuliahRA]

Dh stood for "dear husband".

Or if you are like me DH most times means "Damn Husband" or "Dumbass Husband" *shurgs shoulders*

Just like BRB to me means "BathRoom Break", because most times when someone says BRB they are going to take a leak. BRB actually means Be Right Back.... I have had a few people to tell me on messenger BRB and they never return. I just figure either they fall in the toilet... had to really concertcrate on dropping the duece... or... they just forgot about me. Most times it is they forgot about me

HUMMM I was told OT meant Obnoxious Theologan[QUOTE=JuliahRA]

OMG ROFLMBO !

You are just like me. When I was trying to have a baby, I was on a trying to conceive board, when I was pregnant, I was on a hyperemesis board and a pregnancy board, after baby, I was on a new mom board, now I am on RA boards! Too funny! Somewhere I read DH can also be Designated Husband and LOL can be Lots of Laughs. Too funny about the Deceased Husband!
