I have noticed more recently that I tend to get cold fast and my bones tend to ache more when I am in A/C for a while or if a fan is hitting me for a length of time.
It will be a deep bone pain.
Anyone else get this?
YES! I hate the cold.
I am allergic as well though, deep achy in the bones definately but also huge itchy hives head to toe! The hives are only bad in the winter though, but i get them all over my hands, wrists and feet when the AC is on too strong. REALLY SUCKS
Since starting on pred. it isn't nearly as bad......
I have a double edged sword. Sweat all the time cause it feels like I'm burning up on the inside. Then if airconditioning blows on my joints, it hurts so bad I could cry. I cannot have any cold air blowing directly on my joints......bad deep bone pain, just like you describe Joonie.Me, too! If the fan blows on me or the A/C has been on very long, I get that same deep bone pain you mentioned. Last night my elbows hurt worse than they ever have, because I was in the path of the A/C vent. But they were very warm to the touch.
But at night, I often wake up with my head and hair soaking wet. That's the only place I sweat, but it is like I dunked my head in a bucket of water!
Sarah, I never heard of anyone being allergic to A/C. That is very interesting, but it must really be difficult as there is A/C almost everywhere you go! Hope the pred. continues to help.
Take care, all.
Nini
Yeah, I stopped going over my sisters house so much because she has her A/C on about 68 degrees. She HATES to sweat and is use to A/C as that is what she works in.
I am now dreading going over the in-laws, because they will have their thermostat set to around 72 degrees, but the vents are right on top of where all the couches are. So... I about freeze to death there now.
I use to like the cold, but now not so much since my bones seem to hurt when in it for a period of time.
LOL Nini it's not the actual air conditioning, I am allergic to the cold. So if my skin gets cold (like weather, water, AC, icecream) I break out in hives in the cold area. In the winter walking outside I last about 10 min before I am covered in hives. cold urticaria is what it is actually called but simply it is an allergy to cold. something to do with white blood cells or something, i don't know, i've had it since i was about 4 or 5.
so i definately hate the damn cold!
When I was a kid I use to be allergic to the sun. I would get these white blotchy spots on my face and body. And I tan easily, so if I had a good tan and went out in the sun... I would get those white blotchy spots that made me look like I had some sort of skin disorder. I have a many of school pics with the white blotchy spots on my face. Hey Joonie, It has been a Looooong time since I've come around. Am off for the summer ...well till early August anyway...so I actually have time. I saw your post and can add that a/c affects me similarly. I really hate to be cold...does make my bones and joints ache terribly. Do we actually know why we are affected so much? I wasn't sure this forum was still around...glad to have rediscovered it...and YOU! Molly Bee
Sarah...That really sucks. Even ice cream? I would be covered in hives all the time
I really didn't know that kind of thing happened to people.
