I have met many nice people on this board. I feel lately however that people
have become distant. If you are not on a ton of meds, then this board does
not have much to offer you. Are there any sites out there that like to focus
on other aspects of this disease other than a ton of meds. I see so much
med abuse at work, it is the last thing I want to do myself. I would
appreciate any input about other sites that may be more focused on
nutrition and non medicine treatments for RA.

Sure Lori! There's tons of sites. Here's a few:

www.rheumorweb.com

www.4ratalk.com

www.rheumamisfits.com

www.rheumahasit.com

www.rasushi.org (sorry, I HAD to LOL)

www.dailystrength.org

Each site is a little different, and I know there are dozens more, those are just the only ones that roll off the top of my head! Watch out for Joonie, she can list another 10 I'm sure. :)

Hummmm.... Nope nothing to add... Maybe try 4RATalk... they got a couple of folks over there that are really good at researching alternative treatments and non-med treatments. Well, they did the last time I was a member over there.

Lori - I'm not familiar with any other sites other than those listed, but I do have a link to a site that talks about alternative and complimentary therapies....

I hope you will also still hang around here though! I am not on a lot of medication either, just Relafin, an anti-inflammatory. I think its important to get as many different views and opinions as possible, and hear about as many experiences as well. I think everyone has something to offer.

NancyHi Lori - hang in there.   I have been busy and also having problems withdrawing from my benzo sleeping pills which are way worse than RA but I will start up the nutrition/vegetarian link soon - actually I have to find that darn tofu cheese recipe but any day now..... Also having telephone problems which of course affects my computer but supposedly that was sorted today.
I had blood tests done a week ago for the first time in around 2 years. My dr. said the results were so good I should be dangerous - I certainly dont feel dangerous but whether it is RA or benzo related I dont know but my iron, B12, folate etc were all excellent, my CFC(or thereabout - didnt get a copy of the results, will next time am at drs) was only slightly above normal so am feeling quite pleased that my 'gamble' seems to be working so far.   I think for some people diet certainly does work & my last xrays showed a distinct slowing down of the progression of the disease. It is still there but nowhere the same as it was so hang in there.
Best wishes,Just my opinion but I really think this board has it all.
