the best advice i can give you is to get a good rheumatologist for your wife and, with the right medical care and treatment, she may go into remission. Remission is not a cure and the RA can and does worsen when not in remission.
Lots of people, myself included, have tried lots of weird things when we first get diagnosed, but after a number of years you realise that none of the "magic bullet" stuff is going to work.
Sorry to sound so negative, but once you've got RA, you've got a chronic illness that you have to live with.
