Grammaskittles & Deanna will be PROUD | Arthritis Information

So... I went to my new medicaid Dr. Sat there for almost an hour to go to the back to get my vitals took, and then sat in the waiting room another 30 mins before being called back. They say Mondays are the worse. We shall see

Anyways... I told the dr about my neck and she gave me some muscle relaxers, RXed me some more pred.

Now here is where Grammaskittles will be proud of me... I got my referral to a new RD that is 60 miles away... my appt is August 21.

Now here is where Deanna & Grammaskittles both will be proud of me... I told the dr about not having blood work done in over a year, and she was quite shocked and sent me to get blood work done. She said if everything was ok with my blood work, that I would have to come back in a month, and if there was something wrong with it, they will call me to come in.

Yes, People... I willingly gave in and sucked up a part of my sucky life, and let them stick me with a needle and take my much needed blood from me!!! And let me tell you!! It hurt!!!! She jabbed me and did not hold the thing steady and it moved all around!! All I could think of was "I wonder if I can have internal bleeding and die after the way she treated my VERY GOOD vein!?"

I walked out of there and kept looking at my arm wondering if my blood was gushing out of my vein and into my body and I was slowly dying!!

What?! Like Ya'll do not do that!!

Yeah, I hope so too. I just hope she does not send me off to the darn dirty vampires again... I have given all the blood I am willing to part with at this time. Whenever I get blood work I scrunch my eyes shut and look away. I'm not
really squeamish of needles but if I do that the lab worker thinks i am and
then they're super gentle (usually).I don't mind getting my blood taken.  I kinda like watching it pour into the vial.  Is that weird?

Awwww very good June!!!!  I am so very proud of you.  And no, blood is not gushing from your vein and you are not gonna bleed internally from it and die.

Congrats on the new RD referral.  You really need to see one.  Pred, pain relief, and make your seat in the car all comfy before you embark on your journey into wellness 60 miles away.

Good Job!

I hope the new rhuemie turns out to be a great one for you.

Me too!

Thanks Guys! I hope she is a good RD too. My mom got her name from a couple of her church members that have RA and they say she is really good. But anyone probably would be better than the RD I have now.

Oh... I just found out that a couple of months back, my current RD had a car accident and fractured one of his vertebre. And the dr I saw today said he was really struggling coming and staying everyday, because of the pain in his neck. He has to wear a neck brace. I went across the hall to my current RD's office to ask them to fax my Humira RX to CareMark, and I saw him. He looked just pitiful, neck brace and all.
