Anyone take/took Robaxin?

That Doc I seen today RXed me Robaxin for my neck. I sure hope it works. But I did read the leaflet and it said something about may cause drowsiness... Wonder if it will have the same affect on me as pain pills have. Anyone know?

It adds to my drowsiness. I am on 2 narcotic pain meds, Plaquenil,Flexeril and several other things. Robaxin is something I take when the muscle spasms get so bad I can't move. I have to lay down when I'm having that kind of pain, for anything to work.

Good luck with it. I hope it helps your neck pain. It is supposed to be a pretty good muscle relaxant.

Hugs,

Nini

I am not sure if I have spasms or not, I just know some mornings I wake up with this pain that runs from the right side from where neck muscle meets at the shoulder, up the right side of my neck, then it goes up my head behind my ear. And it will last all day, and my muscle on the right side of my neck is very very tight and I cannot turn my head nor lean my head to the left or even do neck rolls to loosen it up.

She said I might be having spasms while I am sleeping at night that is causing my neck to be soo stiff, and hurting like it has been, but she was still mythed to what the swishing sound I hear in my neck is. She said I might need to get an MRI of it, since x-rays did not show much of anything, and she said that if my new RD did not address my neck problem, which she feels is RA related, that she will see what is wrong with my neck.

I go back to her in a month to see if my neck is any better.

I'm on Robaxin for a herniated disc and neck spasms. I've been on it since December, but don't take it every day. My doc prescribed 750 mg. and told me to take 2 tabs. every 6 hrs. That was OK when I wasn't working and could nap during the day. But when I went back to work in March, there was no way I could take it and work.

I usually only take it at night now, or on the weekends if I need it. If my neck is really painful at work, I use my TENS unit.

Joonie, I took muscle relaxers last year and I had to take them at night because they made me sleepy.  I found that after I got better that I took them as a sleep aid.  Now that I've tapered Pred. I sleep, and sleep, and sleep.  Oh, did I tell you that I'm sleeping better?

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Robaxin knocks me out, but does not really make me sleepy, like pain pills do. It makes me feel tired and like I can go to sleep, but if I push myself to stay awake, I can stay awake until I get comfortable then I blink and not realize I fell asleep.

I wonder how I would do if I took it 4 times a day like it says to. I might found out this weekend. I have only took 2 so far and both on different days. Wanted some relief, until I was able to experiment with how it works with taking 4 times a day.
