Green thread?????????????Well, this isn't a tip but I rode my bike today for the first time in a year, Yes,
it was only 4 blocks but I rode my bike today for the first time in a year.Well, actually, this week I don't feel as incredibly good as I did last week. In
fact my feet are really bad the last 2 days, but it's the nature of AP to be 3
steps forward, 2 steps back. I'm for sure doing way better than I was 6
months ago.

Green green green...it's so hot around here, and I'm embarrassed to drive
my car. You know what's green and good? Farmer's markets. Now, that's
buying local!Oh I LOVE farmers markets. There's one in Warwick, NY every Sunday at the train station. local farmers, bakers, wine makers, and flower growers, honey farmers all there from the first Sunday in May through the last Sunday in October. It's great. I like to go to places like that with no particular recipes in mind, I just buy what looks great and figure it out on the drive home.YUM! I'm going to one this afternoon. It satrts at 12. Last week I went at 4
and everything was gone except cherries and kale, so today I'm going a lot
earlier.Hey, let me know what you end up getting!Oh yeah! I got carrots and beets and fennel and little yellow squash and
mustard greens and mixed greens with flowers and sorrel and brocolli and
fava beans and blueberries and cherries and it's all so fresh and organic.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!...and potatoes and onions!fennel is good if you slice it up with an onion, some carrots, and sort of make a bed in the roasting pan with it and roast a chicken or pork roast on top. I love fennel - great raw in salads too.Gimpy - congratulations on the bike ride.  We are in the middle of a huge 3 (now 5) year road widening project, and the bike trail has just been laid out finally in front of our place, but it will be another year before the intersection is finished so I can get to the main trail system.  That's my goal, to get back on a bike which I haven't done since maybe high school.  And a few years ago I was jogging the beach and in a kick boxing class.  You go gogo.  CathyThanks Cathy....my bike used to be my main mode of transportation (at least in the summer) before my knee was invaded by RA. I'm actually going to sell my bike and buy one that's easier to ride (ie: one with gears). Vancouver is hilly!

You rode your bike!   I didn't know!   See Pip do the happy, happy AP dance!

Pip

Yes, Pip! It's true, I rode it four blocks on Tuesday, haha! Not quite the long bike ride yet, but I credit it all to AP.

Well, that's not true, I credit it a lot to AP, some to my PT, and some to me. I heart bicycling!
Good for you! I am ashamed to say that I don't even own a bike! I did walk today for about 45 min. w/a neighbor. She told me to meet her tomorrow at the H>S> track but it's at 7am. I'm still doing my walking little by little. Very upset though today I was at the mall and i saw a woman in a wheelchair go by being pushed by an aide.   A little later on we passed again and I notice her wrists, fingers etc that were all deformed and I thought "Oh God, she has RA". I was cold, all over. That could/may be me. Tears in eyes, I thanked the powers that be for my meds.Honey, times have changed and now we have super-meds! So if you're not in that condition already I think it's very unlikely you will ever be. Take care of yourself, 'though, 'kay? Thanks gimpy, I think, that aside from our political views, we'd probably be friends, or at least walking (gimping) buddies!!
