RA focus on getting better | Arthritis Information

Hi all, Have you all experienced this: You get better and feel like your meds are working and then something happens and you have a set back? Last couple of weeks I've felt terrific and then awful. I've taken Boniva for my bones, and after that I began to hurt all over.(last tuesday) Now, I have this sore shoulder (taking acetaminophen) and it seems to be helping. But, I still have these dang stiff fingers?? and the bottoms of my feet are swollen. I called the doc's office but no reply (frestrating), and will call again tomorrow.

I don't know if my meds aren't working or if other things are getting in my way (family bad news, etc.)? I take the mtx Thursday. and more Remicade on the 27th.

Thanks, Lynda

Lynda,

I'm sorrry you are feeling lousy again. I know what you mean about getting better and then worse again - I've done that too. Even a couple good days and I am sure I'm "getting better". I wonder if we do too much when we start getting better  - or if we are really just on the edge of improvement and a little stress or overactivity knocks us back down quite easily. Good health seems to be a very tenuous achievment for us. I've been feeling much better lately, and my husband still trys to have me rest and not get too excited about it, he has seen me go back downhill and how discouraging that is. I hope you feel better again soon.

I"ve been on that same rollercoaster for 13 years. After a while I think you start to accept....and almost expect it. It's disappointing; but remember, Things will get better again. Try not to let it upset you.
