AI history | Arthritis Information

doing some digging around and ive found some interesting stuff which goes back to 2002, lots of AIers talking about using Enbrel for the first time and stuff like that.  they also seemed to share an awful lot more than "us lot" do - they even sent one another little presents by the looks of things!!!
this stuff has got my imagination going.   what has happened to the people who were on here in 2002?   what happened to the site for it to change so much?   most of the information on here apart from the boards goes back to that period.
if anyone can tell me what happened to the original AIers or the board's history, i'd love to hear.   anna
I wasn't here then; but I know a little about the history. They started another site and number of them moved over there for good. A few still mingle here and I'm sure someone can point you in the direction of that site if you're interested in checking it out. I'm not sure what it is. When I first started coming here I did go to that site; but it's changed since then as well.

I was here.  The site was a very cohesive one at that time and we had a lot of fun.  It was a well monitored site and the bickering was kept to a minimum.  We shared our lives, had little contests, there were some gifts, etc., etc.  The site got hacked badly several times, and eventually sold (for not much in the way of money), became a commercial venture with advertising and so it goes.  The membership split up while awaiting the new site with the old owners.  Some stayed with this site, others went with the old owners and some went to an entirely new site.  It's the way of message boards, I'm afraid.  And some visit a lot of sites now.

I drop in here from time to time and contribute what I can.

I was here as well and Island Woman won't tell you this, but she was a big contributor to the site.  She ran a contest now and then and she mailed out prizes to the winners.  She started a poetry contest which was fun.  There are other things as well, but that is two of the things that I remember. She is well read and well traveled, so she had very interesting tales to share.
Thanks for the memories Janis.

Hi all, I've never checked into any forum before and I can tell you this one 'saved my sanity', I had such a bad time starting in Feb,  (well actually after Dec), and I was going crazy and driving my dear husband crazy, so this forum has been so good for me. I had many questions, didn't understand how forums worked (24 /7), how much support people can give you and most of all how everyone who responded to my post UNDERSTOOD just how I was feeling.

I usually don't read all of the posts, just the ones related to info about getting well, selecting drugs, and how drugs affect people. What to expect from the drugs, etc. People have giving me great advice (be patient!), get 1mg tablets of prednisone to go off slowly, this dang disease plays tricks on you, makes you crazy, the drugs don't work fast and sometimes not at all!, so we all have to sort out our own lives and what 'works' for us.

I want to play golf with my husband so badly on Friday, so I'm off to take my 20 mgs. of mtx.......I just know that's going to help!! The sun will shine, and the birds will sing!!Ha Ha, Lynda

Have a blast on Friday Lynda...glad you're feeling so well.  You almost make me want to play golf too!!!Haha! This is on the home page of Arthritis Insight:
