How many times a day do you think about what joint(s) is hurting or bothering you?

I probably spend most of my day thinking about it. It sucks, and is a constant reminder. The only time I do not think about them bothering me or even hurting is when I am asleep. That is why I like to sleep, but I have had joints in soo much pain that it would wake me up and keep me awake for days. But most times if I can go to sleep, my pain is not a problem for me, but if I ever wake up it is a constantly nagging at my thoughts.

I can't really say how MANY times a day I think about my joint pain, but I can say for sure that it's never far from thought. Walking hurts, sitting too long hurts, getting up and down out of a chair hurts...I pretty much hurt ALL the time, no matter what I'm doing. I even have trouble sleeping at night because my shoulders ache when I lay on my side, which is the only way I can sleep because of back problems when lying on my stomach, and arm/hand numbness problems when lying on my back. Really sucks.

i am the same . it seems whenever i do something where i am not directly thinking about pain , the pain will get worse in maybe one or two joints just to remind me not to forget about it. i must have been really bad in my last life !!!

Its almost like I forget 30 times a day that I have RA. its bizzare..maybe I'm still in denial.

I hate how much RA consumes my thoughts during the day....I use my hands constantly ( as most people do) so they're pretty much in pain all the time....I do get surprised once in a blue moon- and realize that, Gee- my hands don't hurt as bad today....unfortunately that's not very often.Much more than usual this past week.  I had a flare in my wrist which is pretty much over now, but my hips and shoulders are quite stiff and achy.  Knees too.  Still, I can't really say I'm thinking about it in the true sense of the word, I guess just more like I'm noticing it. Hmmm....I don't really think about my joint pain anymore it's just there.  I just have to think on how to carefully plan my day to minimize pain as much as possible.  Mine is constant and always on my mind. My hands are especially bad and as mentioned, we use them all day so hard to forget.   Always on  my mind too unfortunately because it never goes away.....

Good to know I am not the only one, but sad to see it.

I dont think about seperate joints more as a whole on my body unless one joint is more swollen than the rest, even then I am more disabled by the fatigue and stiffness than by the swelling of joints.I think I have pretty low pain levels so I don't think about it too much. My
mind just tends to "filter it out". Lately, on a good day when I have no pain, I
won't notice I have RA for hours and hours.

But I don't know what i would be like if the pain got more intense. Pain is
pretty insistant.

I sorry, Lisa
