RA - RELAPSE, here we go again | Arthritis Information

Hi, It seems this is a weekly report. We feel good one week and then the next back to go. Honestly, I felt so good 2 weeks ago after the remicade, then took the Boniva pill (which may or may not have triggered a relsapse!!), but any way I'm back to square one! Bad hurting feet, no golf for me. Walked the beach and had a terrible burning pain on the fatty part of my left foot. It hurt so bad I wondered if I'd make it back to the car!!, Then today it is still swollen---no golf, dang!!

I'm going onto the prednisone again, 15 mgs. for a week, then  tapering. Is this a life? Yes, I guess it is my life. Thank goodness I CAN WALK! My hands are better, not as stiff with 3 days of the pred.

Thanks for letting me vent, NO ONE ELSE, understands all of this but you all of the forum and wants to hear it anyway.

Lynda

Lynda,

I am so sorry!  Please take it easy, and pretend you are queen for the day.

Sending you a hug!Vent away - we all to need to verbalise it (if typing it is verbalising

Does it happen right after taking Boniva? It maybe that. I refuse to take Boniva again, worst flare I ever had, I couldn't get off couch for a week, My rheumy didn't believe it was the boniva, but read side affects, it's right there!! (severe bone pain) I have 4 kids, can't lay on couch for a week crabbing at them for wanting Mommy.

Hope you feel better

Hi, I think so as it was right after taking the Boniva that I started to feel lots of pain and stiffness, and this has happen before (last month) my doctor said 'others have complained about it', hummmmm! My husband says, "don't add another variable' to this cheimical cocktail. I'm not sure where to go from here. there are other drugs to help your bones, but maybe they are not any better. What does everyone else take? (I drink a lot of milk) Lynda

Sarah- So sorry things are bad again. I know where you are coming from as i have had the same lately. It is our lives as we know it, but i think to myself that everyone has their ups and downs this is just the same ( it doesnt help but i try to think positive

I really hope you feel better soon.

So sorry to hear your feeling so bad.  And to have to miss golf too.  I know you were looking forward to that.  Feel better soon, hope the pred works fast.

Linda

I am right there with ya on being back on the pred. But at least the pred does provide some much needed relief.

I hope you get to doing better real soon.

Rarely, patients have reported severe bone, joint, and/or muscle pain starting within one day to several months after beginning to take, by mouth, bisphosphonate drugs to treat osteoporosis (thin bones). This group of drugs includes BONIVA. Most patients experienced relief after stopping the drug. Contact your health care provider if you develop these symptoms after starting BONIVA.

I hope you feel better soon!!

Peace & Love...Neasy

((((Lynda))))  I'm so sorry you are not feeling good again.  Hoping that the prednisone kicks in and gives you some relief.  Gotta get those tootsies and the rest of you feeling better.  Take care.

Hi Lynda, am really sorry that you've had to go back on Pred.  I understand completely. It's a short dose and you'll be back off in no time.  Lindy
