What happens when taking no medication | Arthritis Information

I am off all my meds and the swelling has begun( I have quite skinny legs normally), I am seeing my Rheumy on wednesday so I will find out where i am going with it all.

My knee and ankle are really sore.

Why are you off all your meds?  How long have you been going without them?  You definitely look swollen.  What's your pain like?

OOHHH that puffed up ankle looks like mine when i broke it.Never returned to normal. your leg has "prednisone please" written all over it

Sure hope your doc can give you something to make them better. Have you had cortisone injections in them?

Feel better soon!

Hugs,

Nini

Pin cushion..... great name!  So, did you take yourself off, or did the doctor? Did you think you were better?  I go through that thought often...  think that I'll take myself off everything and start over with one thing at a time.. Let us know.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeouch!!!!!  My ankles look like that too!

Well I hope to heck that your rheumy does something to get this under control.  You failed on remicade right?  I can't flippin remember!!  Maybe Kineret will help.  Have you done Kineret??

molly- off meds cause i have a bad reaction to them, i cant find one that agrees with me, the pain is a deep pain that is burning.

Liz- i havent been on remicade. i was told that Humira is my last chance. I will ask my rheumy why.

Man, that make me hurt to look at those pictures, you stick them out right at your doctors and ask them, what do you think?  Geez.

My toes, feet, lower legs, and knees are just starting to puff up and its holding.  Its so weird to look down and suddenly your legs dont belong to you anymore.  Before diagnosis, I was given a diuretic.  LOL   My first clue something was wrong seven years ago was  when I suddenly went from size 8 to 8.5 shoes, had no clue why.  Had the same shoe size for almost 30 years, then bam.   I had just bought all these really cute sandals with heels for my new life in Florida.  Salvation Army enjoyed them.

WOW! That looks so painful. They need to do something for you quickly! Be demanding! I hope you can find something you can tolerate that will work well.

Laker

Hi, I'm on Remicade, haven't had any bad reactions, but can't say I'm greatly improved. I'm also, on mtx and pred, as you see below. If you have the insurance, and think you want to try 'it' Remicade wasn't impossible. Lynda I am happy when my ankle looks like that...lol!  Mine get SOOOOOOOOOO bad.

Your ankle and knee look just like mine.  On the meds that is about as small as my poor ankles get but my knees go down.  I hope the Dr can find something that helps soon.

Take care

Hi, I wouldn't even think about 'risking' not taking any medication. I know I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. Lynda

Pinnie,

I am so sorry about your knees and ankles.  Unfortunately, because I am new to treatment about 4 mo.  Mine still look like that most of the time.  I can feel your pain, and am sorry.  I hope there is a better avenue for you, and that your body will accept the meds.

Take it easy until then, try some ice if you can.  Ice has only helped with my hands about a quarter of the time.
