My fingers have been cramping ever since I ws dx'd with RA three years ago. My fingers just bend and go stiff, and it is SO painful. I can't straightened them with physically bending my fingers backward. they look like twisted deformed fingers. It usually it happens when i am using my hands, like holding cards for a long period of time. But lately they just do it without me even using my hands. I've talked to my rheumy several times about it and he prescribed quinine pill sfor me, but they were so expensive i didn't get them.
Does anyone else have this problem. I've posted this before and no one seems to. I'm at my witts end with this and am sick of it. My toes do it too but not nearly as often and as bad as my fingers.
Hi, yes I'm having that problem. Quinine? Interesting....I'm complaining all the time about my fingers stiffening up, my foot bottom (L), swells and hurts, and I've had cramps in my feet. I'm seeing my doc on the 23 and will ask. LyndaI have the same problem with my feet. Seems like I have seen quinine water or soda with quinine in it in the soda aisle? My Dad used to drink it for leg cramps and it worked. Probably a lot cheaper than a prescription. If you try it, let us know. I think I will try it too. Good luck.
