Saw my RD today! | Arthritis Information

Well, my blood tests are all within normal range (yay!).  AND I will start tapering off the MTX this week.  I asked him if he thought now that maybe I don't really have RA (this is a thing I can't get out of my mind, even with last weeks wrist flare). He said I do have it, I'm doing so well because the meds are working.  So I brilliantly stated that I just don't think I have it, and could it possibly be something else?  He said it's very rare but sometimes a person can have short term arthritic inflammation that will just go away, but I shouldn't count on it more than likely it's the meds doing their job.  And just so you know, many people on this board told me it could be a disaster to just stop taking the meds, he said the exact same thing, that people feel well, think they're better, quit the meds, have a major flare and then the old meds don't work anymore. I'm really glad I listened to you, just in case.  So thanks for the quality advice, and taking the time to give it.

Linda

Hi, your good news and info is such a treat this morning. It is good to know that what's said on the forum actually works well for us. There seems to be a million angles to this disease and how to best take the meds, reduce at the right time and, of course,  trusting our doctors is most important. I'm really glad you feel better and are able to think about getting off the Pred. Good work! Lynda

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I hope you stay well

Stay well,

Nini

So glad the meds are working for you!!!  Good luck with the taper and stay well!!!  And don't stop posting here ok?  We would miss ya!!!Great news, Linda! I am happy MTX is working so well for you. It did not work so well for me, it actually made me hurt worse than before I started it. I hope it continues to work for you.

Thanks to all!!  Who knows whats up ahead for me, for any of us really?  I don't want to get too excited because one of the things I know from this board is that things can cange pretty quickly. I hope things will change for the better for all of us.

Gramma, how are your hands today?  Did I read that your feet swelled up too?  I hope it's weather related, because it can't stay wet forever.

Joonie, hang in there, things will improve for you.  It's you and Arris (Katie?) who really touch me.  Being so young, and having RA since you were just small fries, and still having such strength and laughter.  You guys make me feel like a light weight.

I'm glad to have the chance to know all of you.

Sorry for the mush.....PMS

Linda

I'm so happy you're doing so well Linda! RA or not though, you better not plan on leaving us!  LOL

Hahahaa PMS does not make me mushy

ok ok ok it does, but only makes my body mushy because of all the junk I crave around that time

I am on a cornbread kick. I keep eating cornbread by itself at like midnight. I get hubby to make it for me and we just sit up and watch a movie while we eat it. LOL.  My hands have lost some of their swelling due to the pred.  So have my feet.  I am going to go to bed without Lidoderm patches stuck to my wrists and feet tonight.

The breakthru pain meds have done their job and the pain level is something I can tolerate and still small things around the house.

So I am on the way to kicking flare butt!

Glad to hear it.  Aren't lidoderm patches the best?  Expensive though.  Even with my co pay they're like 60.00
