I have been off my arthritis meds except for Plaquenil (Mobic for two months and MTX for 30 days) and I am doing great. I had to go off these meds for a scheduled surgery (I had already cut out the Mobic due to not needing it anymore). Well the surgery did not happen due to a migraine/sinus problems the night before and morning of the surgery ( just my luck... my one migraine of the year) so I had to cancel the surgery until the 2nd.
How long have you found that MTX will hold off RA symptoms? Looks like I may have to be off MTX for a total of eight weeks since the delay.

Hi, I had a weird experience and had to be off mtx (the only RA med I was taking) for 3 months. I had heart surgery and they wouldn't let me take mtx because it would interfer with the healing. so i was in terrible pain. The only help I got was from Prednisone. LyndaI was off all RA meds, other than a NSAID for over a year. I would say that I felt OK for about 3 months. After three months, I found it very hard to function.THanks. If I can last three months I will be okay. My biggest fear about the surgery was going off MTX.
