Sign/sympton tracking - HELP! | Arthritis Information

OK, I am not very computer literate.  I was trying to figure out how to post a spreadsheet or pdf file, but can't.  I just cut and paste some of the items in my spreadsheet on signs and symptoms.  There are nice little notes inserted in the "pain" section.

Can you look at and see if I am forgetting something?  I was going to put X's or numbers and then covert it into charts per each month.  If you have any suggestions let me know.

thanks

What about limited ROM?

Swelling -- body part(s) that is swelled?

Hi.. I just opened a "my space account and record everything in a narrative style."

Like  Monday: up at 6, stiffness < 30 minutes, take all meds, left knee swollen,  bath, rom,  pain scale 6 out of 10.

I can write it all down and print out a months worth  and take it to the dr if I need to

Good idea Joonie, I will add that.

Kathy, I work in the Health Information (medical records) and I know that dr. basically glance at your chart right before they walk in in the exam room door.  I hope that I can use this spreadsheet to make charts and graphs.  They will look at that as a comparison.  But that is a great way to chart a diary of symptoms.  I also hope that I will be encouraged if I see progress, since our drugs seem to take a long time to work.

thanks ladies

I don't know if this is helpful but I use this Marshall Protocol Chart to track my progress on AP. Some of the stuff on it isn't useful since I'm not on MP, but so far it's worked out pretty good. I just printed one and then photocopied a bunch of them.

This link is a PDF file so you need adobe acrobat to open it.

Symptom and progress tracking chart.
Thanks for the link!  That is what I am trying to do.  I will ask my software engineer husband (I am not a computer person, thank goodness for my in-house consultant) and have him figure out how to post a pdf file when I am done.

Thanks for the suggestions, so that I can refine this.

You have stiffness after inactivity but what about swelling and stiffness etc after activity?Your welcome, Mary B, although the one I have has a bunch of symptoms down the left side of the page which seem to have gone MIA on this link. There are also blank ones so you can write any other ones you have in.

I guess you can just write in your own...but that is darn mysterious!
Here you go....I think I just linked one that was blank (which you might prefer anyway), but there's the one already filled in with different symptoms. I kind of customised mine.

Chart with symptoms
Excellent! I keep a chart as well - one week per page.  Down the left-hand side are the things I'm tracking (painful joints, sleep amount, mood, stress, weather conditions, medications) and across the top, the days are listed out.  It also has a lined section at the bottom for notes.  It's an Excel spreadsheet, and I print out 50 or so at a time and bind them using a cheap wire binding machine (we have one at home - the kids love to make books of their artwork!).  When it's all filled out, I can archive the notebook for reference.  It's quite useful when I go to the doctor - we can see just what's been going on over the past few months.  Otherwise, if my appointment happens to be on a good day, I tend to gloss over the bad days... and vice-versa!
