Going on a week now | Arthritis Information

Well Ive been in a flare for going on a week now...Called the on call dr Friday night and he says "just take some ibuprofen or tylenol"  YEA RIGHT!! So I call Tuesday (i dont have a phone right now so hubby was home early so was able to call my RD) and its what THURSDAY and he has yet to call me back.....I HATE PEOPLE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelsaysmommy, I know exactly how you feel.  I write their names on tp and use it, its very therapeutic.

awwww shannon hates me right now

sorry, hope you they call soon.

No i dont hate you Joonie...who else could i talk to about certain specific topics

Now I can just see Cathy walking around with droopy pants and a thong on and smeared across her right butt cheek "Dr. _Insert name  ". Makes me mad when i called on Tuesday, the girl that took the message said that i should have the pharmacy fax the request...What do you guys think of that?  But i have no idea what the dr would give me if anything and can i do that since the only thing i have that he's written me are narcotics?  I think that's absolutlely ridiculous that dr hasn't called you back.  What if there's an emergency?  I don't know why some drs are less concerned than others but I agree with the suggestion about going to the clinic manager and complaining.  Patients are still customers.I think they assume you will go to the ER if it is an emergency. A couple of my Drs have me call my pharamcy (even if there aren't any refills) and the pharmacy faxes the Dr. and then fills it.well i called the dr again last night and they once again told me to call the pharmacy and have them fax a request.  Ok so this makes no sense to me but ok...so i did and it has yet to be filled cause they need an ok from my dr....So once my brother in law wakes up im going to call the dr and stay on the phone w/ someone till i can talk to the nurse or office manager.  This is the whole reason i wanted to talk to the nurse to begin with cause i know that my dr is VERY slow with stuff like this....UGGGGG this is so frustrating.  I wonder if it has anything to do w/ the fact i have no ins.  I know they'll say its not but i always wonder about it.  But on a good note, my husband is in the talks w/ a new company and they pay 100% of the ins preium and it would mean an increase in pay!!!  Heck id be happy w/ the same pay and they only pay the ins...we'll see what happens

My pharmacist did that once for my husband.  But, only because my husband didn't realize the prescription had expired and the pharmacist knew it was a drug that my husband couldn't quit taking.  So, they took care of getting the o.k. to fill it because of the urgency of the situation.

I have never heard of the doctor asking you to request a drug through the pharmacist.  That is just ridiculous.  It doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Did they give you a reason they wanted you to request it through the pharmacy?

They said this is their new procedure for getting meds filled.  Well the nurse is going to get a piece of my mind about it.  There is NO reason i have had to wait since Tuesday to get this done.  They still havent even called....I HATE DRS!Ridiculous!!!!  Maybe try calling the pharmacy and asking them to call the doctor back for you? We shouldn't have to jump though hopes to get the treatments we need! Shannon...so I guess you are still all swelled up?  I'm sorry, I am so wrapped up in my good day that i didn't even ask.  Tell your doc that if he doesn't get you your meds by yesterday two marines are coming over to kick his ass.  And remind him that a marine can kill you with his bare hands in 8 to 13 seconds.yea still swelled up and hurtin...yes we shouldnt have to jump through hoops to get treatment....hahaha between all the Marines i know and your sons we could have a whole platoon out to his office

Shannon maybe you could increase your predisone until you're feeling a little better? Any strong pain medication they call in is going to be expensive and it's only going to help for a short while. An increase in predisone might get you back up and going again faster than a new pain medication.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with them. I wouldn't think your insurance issues have anything to do with this at all. You pay your bills don't you? A requested return phone call doesn't come with a bill attached anyway. Now if you have a large outstanding balance there you might be right. I always ask to speak to my RD's nurse...never him personally. HIs nurse is great and she always returns my call with in a couple hours at the most. She'll run ask him a question (If she doesn' tknow it herself) and call me right back. I think everyone deserves that. Maybe consider a new doctor. You certainly deserve better than you're getting.

Hope you feel better soon. Hang in there.
