Should I get excited? | Arthritis Information

This is my first message but I have been reading a few over the last couple of days. I am a little excited at the idea of so many people that can understand!

I am one of the lucky (men) and was diagnosed about a yr ago with RA. In that time I have read a lot of material online and in hard copy.

I am currently in a milder flare and have had 5 Remicad treatments. Maybe it just isn't going to work for me. I will just have to see.

Jay

Hi Jay & Welcome to AI

I'm sorry Remicade hasn't helped you much...perhaps it's still possible for it to kick in.  I certainly hope that's the case anyway.  I'm not familiar with Remicade myself as I haven't started it yet.  I'm on Enbrel injections along with a big mix of other meds and will be switching from Enbel to Remicade within the next few months.

We're glad you're excited to be here and yes...we do understand.

Peace & Love...Neasy

Hey Jay.....glad you found us!!  But (should I say it?) too bad you had to =)

I don't know about remicade specifically, but I do know that alot of these drugs can take a while to kick in.  I guess you already know that though, huh?

Anyway, welcome and I hope you feel better real soon.

Linda

Howdy Jay, welcome.  This was my first impression of the bios. I was just told last week that it can take up to three months if you are way out of wack.  (which me, being the incredibly lucky person that I am I have never felt relief and have been in a constant flare for three and a half years).  It only gets worse and has never gotten better.  I am experiencing less pain on a different bio. So, hang in there.  Welcome Jay, it's nice for us women to have another Guy to pick on!  You will find lots of info and good will here, so climb aboard and ask away!

Hi RAJay, Oh I just had a big dose of Remicade, and feel very sleepy. (500 mgs). I'm convinced this is helping me, because I've had 'about' 5 or 6 infusions, and this time I really felt I NEEDED the medication!!? Started to get the FAtigue feeling, which is a big part of this RA, and stiffness in my neck and shoulders (which had gone away after the last teatment).  That's my clue.

I'm glad you found us and hope you will continue to post and check in. It is comforting to know you are among friends/fellow sufferers, and expecially people who understand how you feel. We'll exchange info, I hope, about our Remicade experiences People here keep saying, "be patient' , I'm trying.

Welcome!! Welcome! Welcome!, Lynda

Welcome, Ray! Glad to have you aboard. I don't know anything about Remicade except what I have read here. Like everyone else said, it can take a while for any of the RA meds to work.

I've been on Plaquenil for 9 months and no difference at all. Hope yours kick in soon.

I think you will find that there is usually someone here if you have questions or just need a shoulder. These are terrific people, and have an amazing amount of accumulated knowledge.

Be well,

Nini
