Remicade-Nightmares/sleeping a lot?? | Arthritis Information

Hi all,

I've been having those dreams where I'm lost, can't find any one, the cell phone won't work (naturally), I'm confused and very unhappy. I wake feeling awful. Also, had one I was in a room with my friends WAITIng, for George Bush to show up (that's a nightmare for me!),

.....I've fell asleep the afternoon after the infusion (noon), fell asleep in front of the TV (okay with me, but my husband was wondering , What?), then slept all night until 4am, up until 6 back to bed at 8-10. Out to the garage sales, back at noon, and just woke up!!!3pm here!???

I've never had this reaction to Remicade before, has anyone else? (didn't take Anything, else!!) and drank coffee with caffeine, cola with caf, and ate choc ice creame???????

Whattaya, think? Lynda

Hi Lynda,

When I was on Remicade I had that reaction once.  I only had three infusions, but the second time was like that.  I was so TIRED!  I slept when I got home, then was up for an hour, slept all night, was very tired and slept most of the second day.  I think it can happen and is not necessarily unusual.  I'm sure more folks will come along with their experiences, but wanted you to know you are not alone.  Get some rest and I hope you feel much better soon.

Hugs,

Jen

Hi Lynda, I can drink a double shot mocha, get my infusion and fall asleep.  They wake me up to take out my IV, go home and relax and fall asleep, get up for supper, go to bed early and sleep all night.  I usually plan nothing for the next day because I want to nap during the day.  I don't think it's unusual.  I've talked to others in the infusion room who sleep during and after the infusion.  Happy dreams.  LindyLynda, I don't take Remicade, but I have that same reaction with Humira.  In fact I had to stay up yesterday(because Thursday's are my injections)  I actually got a migraine.  Please stay in bed and sleep.  Besides, you have not slept well in about three weeks, you should be catching up.

Hi I am new to this group this is my first post but I just had to respond I have had four infusions so far all of them have been on Fridays and it seems like I am tired the whole weekend. I have been trying to change my day I told them anything but Friday so my next infusion is set for the 13th of Aug which is a Monday I hope to at least be over the tired feeling by Wednesday.

good luck and take care

Linda from NJ

Hi Lynda,

I have had about 8 infusions, and had to start scheduling them on Friday and take the day off work because I was so tired.  I do remember a couple of times when I got tons of energy afterwords, but otherwise just tired.

And I've had those crazy dreams too!  Those are just awful.  I don't know if it was from the remicade or just my tiredness, but I sympathize with you!

Thanks everyone for your posts. I thought I was losing my ever lovin' mind! I haven't been sleeping well (as shelly mentioned), so it felt good to sleep extra.....but not all the time.

Took a lovely walk at the Morro Rock beach, my friend and I watched the darling kids playing and laughing, had some fish at the pier Fish Market, then home to watch a movie (Dinner with Aundre, an oldie) thanks for your concern everyone, Have a great weekend. Lynda

Hi, Lynda

I just had my first Remicade infusion on Monday, came home fell asleep reading a book about 5:00 and slept 12-14 hours.  I also had such vivid dreams I kept remembering them all day at work.  Same thing the next night.

I'm finally more back to "normal", but glad to hear I'm not the only with with this reaction to Remicade.  My next infusion is next Friday, so it will be interesting to see if happens again.
