Dr Mercola links early life trauma w/ RA | Arthritis Information

I was watching a 6 minute video of Dr. Mercola talking about RA and he said a new thing I haven't heard which is that almost everyone he's treated with RA had a severe emotional trauma before the age of 5. I thought "Hey! I had one of those". Does this sound familiar to any of you?

He suggested incorporating Emontional Freedom Techniques into your health regime.  Here's the video for those interested:

The hospital where I get treated actually has a 2 year Healing Energy education course and I can go and get my healing via energy every second Tuesday for . I get 2 students and the instuctors oversite for that, so I think I may just try it out. At that price I don't have much to lose, and since the hospital is doing it it gives it some credibility.
That's interesting Gimpy, let us know the outcome.  If I had one, I don't remember it.   I think the Healing Energy course sounds great - anything positive is....positive!   But I have to say, with a lot of confidence, my daughter had no major trauma before she got sick just before age two. She was the happiest, most easy-going baby, loved to eat, napped like clockwork, loved her crib (not clingy clingy like her sister!!!). No moves, deaths, divorces, diseases. I guess life was just too good, huh? What do you mean that you get your healing via energy?I've heard of emotional trauma occurring before RA sets in as an adult, but not as a child.  My docs said I started off with a strep throat at age 4, leading to rheumatic fever. (I remember the doc coming to the house to see me.)  Shortly afterward, I was paralyzed from my waist down for only a couple weeks.  By the age of seven I was diagnosed with RA.  Maybe the fear of being paralyzed brought it on.

Interesting theory. My relatives had it so I just assumed it came from them? Trauma was a daily experience for me as a child, but I didn't get RA until I was in my 40's? Lynda

Ya know I can remember when I was about 5 or 6 having double pneumonia . I remember because I slept in moms bed and everyone came in to see me there. I tried to play with my nephews but was too sick and remember crying as I was made to go back to bed. Only when I was a little older did they tell me I just about died. It was after that that I can remember having pains in my legs a lot and mom and gramma saying it was "rheumatism" and gave me Bufferine(anyone remember Bufferine). It helped is all I know.

Now I wonder if that bout with pneumonia was the precursor to all the aches and pains in my legs and Costo when I was 19 followed closely with Fibro, and a few years ago with Osteo. Will be checked in late Aug. for RA because of all the constant swellings and flare ups here and there. More here than there lately. HUMMM something to think about.
