Hi

First thanks to everyone that replied to my first post asking about my eye problem.Your support and advice was much appreciated.

Turns out I have very  very dry eyes and so have got  to have some drops.Horrible test to determine it though.

Now the doc thinks my liver is slightly enlarged so got to go for an X-ray tomorrow although as I am very slim he thinks it is just that my liver can be felt more easily so told me not to worry.Easier said than done.

Best wishes to all and thanks once again.

I had the dry eye test thing too and didn't think it was nearly as bad as it could have been. Did they put the numbing drops in your eyes first? It was only uncomfortable for me when they removed them...and sitting in that dark room for 5 minutes about drove me up a wall!! "Just sit here in the dark and keep your eyes open. Just blink like usual." The longest 5 minutes of my life!!

Welcome to the club. Several of us here have it as well...you're in good company. I'm just glad to hear it wasn't anything MORE serious. The dry eye thing can be serious; but it's rare. Just use the drops regularlly and you should be ok.

The inlarged liver sounds strange. How did they determine that? Just by feeling? Where exactly is your liver? Dumb question I know...but I don't think anyone has ever "felt" to see if mine was large or not.

(I'm a weirdo Bobble...you'll get use to my stupid questions)

Glad to see you back. Hope you'll become a regular.

No ,I didn't get any numbing drops.!!It was the longest 5 mins of my life.

The liver is just under your right ribs, had to breathe in while he felt there.

hum...I don't think anyones ever poked around in there with me.

Yeah; I bet that didn't feel good with out the numbing drops. Those helped alot...I really couldn't even feel them until they pulled them out and they were dry as sand.

If any of you guys have to get this test done....ask for the numbing drops!!

X-Ray tomorrow? Have you been on any meds that would affect your liver?

Only taking 1 Ibuprofen a day .Don't know if that would affect it.Anyone know?

Lord I hope not...I've been taking them by the hand full for years and years and years!!!

No; I doubt that would hurt.

Let us know how it goes.

Sorry, ya'll, but I just looked it up, and found lots of info on the net by just googling "ibuprofen liver"--here are three statements from three different sources:

Large amount of Ibuprofen can cause acute liver cell damage but usually does not cause chronic liver disease.

Prolonged Use
Prolonged use can cause gastrointestinal problems, including ulceration and bleeding, kidney dysfunction, and liver inflammation. See your doctor regularly for laboratory tests and examinations.

No numbing drops?? That's terrible! You poor thing!

I just got more plugs again last week. Mine keep falling out

I stopped using restasis as it was bothering my sinuses. My eyes seem to be doing better without it. However, since I use lubricating drops throughout the day my doc suggested getting the kinds that are preservative free. Next time I get up I'll check the name of the samples they gave me.

I have heard of enlarged liver from ibuprofen as well. What will they do for it?

OK GALS......QUESTION.  CURIOUS AS TO WHAT DROPS YOU ARE ALL TAKING.  I HAVE THE DRY EYE THING GOING ON TOO AND USE RESTASIS.   HELPS SOME...EYES AREN'T AS PAINFUL OR AS RED IN THE EVENING BUT STILL HAVING THAT TIRED AND DRY EYE FEELING.  HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE THEM?  I'M JUST USING IN AM.
