I read somewhere that it is normal to have a low grade fever with RA. The day before yesterday mine was 101.6, yesterday it is 99.9, I haven't checked yet today, but I can tell it is probably the same as yesterday. Anyone else have this, and is there something I should do about it other that Tylenol? How often can I expect this to happen..all the time or occationally? Thanks AGAIN :o)

Staci,

Happens to me all the time.  Any time I have a flaire up, I get low grade fevers.  They make me tired....  I pretty much don't do anything for them; however, if I'm aching I take Advil.

Hi Staci,

I don't get fevers, but I have read that it is not uncommen for some to run low grade fevers on a pretty regular basis.

My son has JRA and does run low grade fevers a little more than just occasionally and they come in clusters of a few days at a time usually in the evenings.

I think Karen (TX) runs fevers at times too.

Wish I could be more help, I don't think there is much more to do for it, Tylenol sounds about right.  I make my son get extra rest when this is going on as it usually is a precurser to a flare.

Take care,

Are you guys able to preview your posts tonight?? I have not been able to

Good luck, I hope you can get some help.

Mike

STACI...I HAD LOW GRADE FEVERS ALL THE TIME BEFORE I GOT ON MEDS.  I ONLY HAVE FEVERS NOW WHEN I'M IN A FLARE OR "TRYING TO FLARE" WHEN I'M NOT TAkING CARE OF MYSELF OR GETTING ENOUGH REST OR MISS A SET OF MEDS (NOT OFTEN).   ANYTHING OVER 100 DEGREES I'D HAVE CHECKED OUT BY A MD.  IF YOU HAVE ANY AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE, WE TAKE IMMUNE SUPPRESANTS.   WE CAN BE VERY ILL AND NOT KNOW IT!!  I HAD A SPIDER BITE THAT DEVELOPED INTO MRSA (FLESH EATING BACTERIA) IN JUST TWO DAYS!!!!  I ONLY HAD A LOW GRADE FEVER AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW SICK I WAS.  WHEN I WENT TO THE DOCTOR, I WAS ALMOST SEPTIC AND HAD TO HAVE EMERGENCY SURGERY!!!!  DOCTOR SAID IMMUNE SUPPRESANTS AND OUR "BUDDY' PREDNISONE "MASKS" ILLNESS.   BE SAFE AND GET IT CHECKED OUT!!!   GOOD LUCK TO YOU DEAR!!!

I seem to run around 99.6 almost all the time.  The doctor said anytime it gets above 100.3 is when I need to get attention.

Karen-many time MRSA presents as a spider bite, thus getting misdiagnosed.  You might want to see if you are still colonized.  I got it in 2004 and am still colonized.  Check out  www.mrsaresources.com for more info.

Have a great day, everyone!

Cheryl

Thanks everybody...just one more thing to mention when I go see the Dr.. Thank you to who ever suggested keeping a list of questions, since I can't remember what color socks I wore yesterday, I definately wouldn't remember all these things that keep popping up with the RA Anny I know that feeling esp. at 3 in the morning!!  My temperature is normally around 97 degrees, but for the past couple of months it's around 99.3 to 99.7 everyday.  I was wondering if it was due to the RA, next time I see my rd, in a couple of weeks I'll have to ask him.  Maybe it has to do with me hurting EVERYWHERE and all of the time.
