At my last appointment my doctor was looking at my records and asked me where my house was located in my street. Its only a small cul-de-sac with 15 houses so everyone knows each other quite well. I described it too him and it turns out that he was the boyfriend of 2 of my neighbours and he hires my other neighbour as his builder. So out of the 15 houses he knows 4 families. We carried on chatting and established that he came to one of our new years parties a few years back when he was with the lady that lives opposite me. My mum remembered him instantly. Weird but funny stuff! Such a small world that we live in!

That is amazing is'nt it!

Okay, best small world stories;

Years ago my mom and I were going to see the Ice Capades here at the Los Angeles forum (huge right).  Well my mom said that my grandma and grandpa had gotten tickets with their senoirs group and brought her binoculars so she could try and spot them.  I laughed and laughed at how crazy she was to think she would ever see them in that mass of people.......Guess what, we more than saw them.  their assigned tickets were in the next row, we were basically sitting with them.

anybody else have a small world story??

Pam,

My husband had to travel to UCLA last week for a week-long class with people coming from 13 countries and all over the USA.  He ran into a fellow teacher from an adjoining school district in Ohio who was not there for that class at all.  The campus is HUGE so Tom chuckled about that when he related the story to me.

I take it that you are in LA.  It was his 1st visit and he liked it very much.  He would've liked to see Andre Agassi in the Mercedes-Benz tennis tourney but didn't want to plunk over 50 bucks to sit in those hot bleachers.

Molly Bee

last month my sister nephew and i went to Disney in FL..one night while in the pool we started talking to this woman and found out she had lived like 3 houses down from us when we were all younger (i was in high school, sister in elementary/middle school). My sister had hung out with her older uncle who had been mentally retarded. Wierd huh?

Also.. When i was in college, I helped to start my college fraternity. A few year later I helped to start a chapter at another college. One of the members over there knew me. He had come to one of my high school's homecoming dances with a friend of mine and danced with me cause she wouldnt dance. That was wierd that we knew each other!

Have several more... not as interesting tho...

THIS IS FUN!  GUESS WHO ENDED UP BUYING A HOUSE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM ME?   THE MANAGER OF A CHRISTIAN DAYCARE WHERE MY DAUGHTER WENT......20 YEARS AGO!   WE RENEWED OUR FRIENDSHIP AND  WE HAVE COFFEE EVERY DAY, PLUS SHE'S A CLIENT OF MINE AT THE BROKERAGE FIRM!!!

ANOTHER ONE....TONIGHT WAS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT.  I ORDERED PIZZA FOR ALL THE KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND HAD SOFT DRINKS.  LATER ME AND MY NEIGHBOR ABOVE, PAT, WALKED AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD VISITING  SOME OF THE NEIGHBORS AND WENT BY A FRIEND OF MINE'S HOME TO SEE HER POOL (MY FRIEND PAT IS PUTTING ONE IN AND WANTED TO SEE HERS).   ANYWAY, THIS FRIEND JOANN AND I VISITED AND SHE KNOWS I HAVE RA.   (OUR KIDS PLAY BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL TOGETHER AND ARE BIG BUDS!)   SHE TOLD ME SHE JUST COMPLETED MRI  AND BLOOD TEST AND HAS HER FIRST RHEUMY VISIT TOMORROW.  TESTS WERE POSITIVE FOR RA.  TURNS OUT WE HAVE THE SAME RHEUMY AND HER AND RHEUMY HAVE THE SAME DATE OF BIRTH, EVEN YEAR AND ARE THE SAME AGE!!   TOO WEIRD!!!  TOLD HER ABOUT ARTHRITIS INSIGHT AND SHE'S GOING TO VISIT US!!  HOPE EVERYONE HAD A PAINFREE DAY!!!

And to think I can one new topic close to losing this thread to the next page!!!

How fun is this place??

I wonder if Jenna lives in Knotts Landing or on Wisteria Lane

Severel years ago we decided on the spur of the moment to go to Gettysburg, and look at the battle field. It's about 250 miles away. We just got up one very early saturday morning and drove down.

When we got there the town was FULL of people in Civil War dress reenactors etc,  there was a big parade because it was Rememberance Day, marking Lincoln's speech. We didn't know anything about it.

We were watching the parade and my hubby (hs history teacher)turned around and there was our county Historian, who had planned to make that trip for  months... They of course know each other, and  we all watched the parade together talking and laughing about "small world"

LOVIE, MAYBE I WASN'T TOO CLEAR.  MY NEIGHNOR PAT I HAD  KNOWN 20 YEARS AGO AND SHE MOVED ACROSS THE STREET.

OTHER NEIGHBOR, JOANN JUST GOT DIAGNOSED WITH RA AND WE HAVE THE SAME RHEUMY.  HER AND MY RHEUMY HAVE THE SAME EXACT BIRTH DATE AND ARE THE SAME AGE.

3 DIFFERENT SMALL WORLD INCIDENCES.

No, no...Jenna's the one living in the Knott's Landing cirlce.Lol! Its a bit like that actually
