Ok... so I was sitting there one night watching tv, a commercial came on for Mirapex. I sat there listening to it and it got to the "Talk to your doctor..." part, right?
There have been reports of patients taking certain medications to treat Parkinson’s disease or RLS, including MIRAPEX, that have reported problems with gambling, compulsive eating, and increased sex drive. It is not possible to reliably estimate how often these behaviors occur to determine which factors may contribute to them. If you or your family members notice that you are developing unusual behaviors, talk to your doctor.
Ok... so I am thinking if you take MIRAPEX, you are going to be an extermely over weight, gambler, with a high sex drive. And between gambling money away, buying lots of food, and pickin' up hookers, you are going to be in the poor house and turning tricks just to have money to buy MIRAPEX. And you do all of this while have restless leg syndrome.
Jeanne I have really bad RLS and I take Cabaser. It is my silver bullet. It works fantastically. I still get tiny spasmy jerks now and then but nothing like the jackknifing I used to do every 30-40 seconds for hours on end. Thats one of the things that always surprises me in the States, they can advertise medications on TV. Can't do that here in Australia. The most they can do is highlight a problem (obesity, stopping smoking, heartburn etc) and suggest you see your doctor about a new treatment. You guys have some unbelievable commercials there must be side effects from watching such utter rubbish.... maybe you could sue!
A question to all: Does RLS go hand-in-hand with RA and autoimmune diseases in general? My RLS was just starting to get really bothersome, but the meds I'm taking now seem to have stopped it altogether. A great relief. Anyone else have results like this? It seems many of you have RLS in addition to the RA.
