Am I flaring or what? | Arthritis Information

My normal body temp is around 97.2 degrees, but it has been up around 99-100 degrees since last fri. and my joints are hurting! I called rheumys office last fri about this and the nurse told me if Rheumy hasn't changed any of my meds it probably isn't related and to call my GP. I told her he lowered my Mtx a bit and she said that wouldnt have made much of a difference. Since it's been a week, I should call her back.... ow, ow, ow, ow..... I want my mommy!

I am so sorry about your flare, and hope you get relief.  I believe I have started on one, and my temp is climbing too.  So is the pain. Take it easy and try to get some help.  Have you tried soaking in Epsom salts.  It does help a little.  ok, I called his office again. My rheumy won't be in the office until tomorrow, so he'll call me then... :(     Hubby's 50th birthday is Sat. and I really wanted to make it special for him, but all I want to do is rest (and cry) *sigh*I hope your doc calls back soon and you feel better for your hubbys b-day!  Take it easy today and drinks lots of water.

I am sure hubby would understand. I would.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks guys. I've been tapering pred for the last few mo. (down to 2.5mg) and went ahead and took 2 more mg. I feel a bit better - not great though.

Tomorrow is another day...

(((((hugs))))) Make sure you get on that office first thing in the morning to talk to your RD.  Meanwhile I am gonna think of some easy ways to still make your hubbys  bday special.Poor Deb, yeah you are definitely flaring. It's so awful when it interferes with important things in our lives. I think hubby will understand too.

But you definitely need to talk to your rheumy. I can email mine directly, by passing nurses and receptionist, it is very, very handy because no one can palm me off.  Cordelia, I never thought about that before. I will ask if he has an email addy for his patients. I have seen others here on the board that are able to, and it makes so much sense.

Sending lots of positive energy to you - that your flare will subside.  I know that I get flares regardless of med changes.  Not sure that nurse knew what she was talking about.  Grrr.

Hang in there and I hope you feel better for your hubby's birthday!  I hope you feel better and your flare lessens very soon!

Jen
