Polymyalgia or SSV | Arthritis Information

Since Polymyalgia is a diagnosis of elimination, here is something that I am going to ask my rheumatologist about the next time I see her.   I don't have any appointment, but have been winging it on Tylenol and aspirin.  I have found that coated aspirin helped a bit better than Tylenol, so have been alternating between the two.

My knees and hips are still stiff and my arms "pull" when I raise them.  But is nothing that I can't live with....just wished I didn't have to and wished it would go away.   I am now hitting my one year anniversary.

Here is what I am wondering about....and maybe some who are not responding to Prednisone might want to ask about this too.  Prednisone nipped my pain in the bud within 12 hours, so I probably do have PMR.   I just can't take Prednisone or Methotrexate.

Thank you for the info. I think we all need to have as much info as possible
on similar things and to be really proactive! My doc actually insisted on tests
for protein in the urine when I went yesterday in order to confirm PMR/rule
out other possibly more dangerous things, despite good reaction to the
pred.

I lived on tylenol and alleve for a year before my diagnosis, so I understand
the regime you are on. Unfortunately it was NOT bearable. I hope you are
painfree very soon.
pgrthanks for that website, i am going to bring this up to my dr.

i really think i should feel better than i do on 25 mg of pred. maybe i do not have pmr

let you know
