Gramma,

I was and addict many years ago but had to put the conrolers down. It has been about 17 year of Video sobriety. Enjoy your freedom! Well done, Honey. Congratulations. Enjoy.

That is just wonderful to hear! I hope you stay in remission for many, many, many, many years to come!

Please do keep us posted!

Wow great news pin, this is fantastic! I'm so happy for you. I hope you never have to suffer with RA again, get all your strength back, and have a wonderful life.Congratulations!  Your remission is inspiring!

Wonderful news!  May you have many, many healthy years.

CONGRATS.  I wish the best.

Honey - congratulations on achieving remission and being able to get off medication!  Could you please let us know what changed or what happened for him to say you were in remission?  I have been trying to research what is "remission" and haven't found anything yet. Was it that your blood tests were "normal" for say a year or no RA factor or what?  Just curious, thanks in advance.  You give us all hope.  Cathy

Honey- I am so pleased for you, it is the best news ever. You must be over the moonExcellent, just Excellent! Justsaynoemore, I am still going to be taking the meds, the dr. said that if I stop there is a chance of it starting up again and so since I'm not having any adverse reactions to my meds he feels I should continue them. I currently take Enbrel injections once a week and Arava every day. However, the dose of the arava is 1/2 the regular dose. I only take 10 mg of it. He wanted to start me out on a lower dose since we could always increse it if necessary but I didn't tolerate mtx well so he wanted to start slowly w/the arava. This was in November. I'm assumng he's basing his diagnosis on my bloodwork, physical exam and just talking to me. He said my bloodwork is back to normal, he asked me about my morning stiffness (which I don't have anymore), and if there is anything I have trouble doing (aside from a weak wrist - can't cut steak anymore!), I don't really have any complaints. He then went through all of my finger joints, wrists, shoulders, does, knees etc and sort of manipulated them all and i didnt even wince!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed. I knew I was feeling good lately but I had no idea that I was in remission - I just thought I was having a string of good luck days. I also want to say that while I think I was just plain lucky, I also noticed that I'm affected by the change in climates. I have a hard time w/pain when we go from spring to summer, fall to winter, winter to spring etc. I am definitely going to be aware and let you all know how I am doing going forward.

I think that since we are in summer now, I have a pool that I've been able to use a lot which is great. I don't do laps too often, I just kind of kick around, float etc and it helped. I also eat a pretty healthy diet too.

Anyway, the dr. wants me back October 4th (I think) for more bloodwork. I'll keep you all posted and thanks for your help and good wishes. I'll still be here guys!
