Where did you find the info on Patrick swayze? I can't find anything to that effect. I can only find that some female singer has RA remade a song of Swayze's. He is one of my favs!!!

When we talked of celebs with RA, I added the info that James Coburn died of a heart attack at 74 with the insinuation that he had beaten his RA. But I gather that he may have experienced "remission" but had not truly treated the disease. My mom with RA died of a heart attack at 75 and like Coburn, she had not treated her disease with meds that would control the RA. Since RA is systemic, it is important to treat the disease which could affect our overall health. In my Mom's case, the meds just weren't out there...she's been gone 19 years. She took coated aspirin for the pain, but the damage to her heart, etc. was taking place and nothing helped with that.
We're far better off today because of the wide range of meds and options available to us.
Interesting. It helps to know of the celebraties who have it as well.
Molly Bee, I know what you mean about the differences we have in meds, verses those with RA from years ago. I had two aunts who died at 55 from RA complications. I'm 49, but I know I have access to much better meds than them.

I read an article that said she didn't want it to get out since she only has a mild case and didn't want those with more serious cases to feel like people would compare them to her. But a neighbor apparently spilled the beans while she was filming the show.
Hi, The wonderful artist Renoir, had RA for the last 25 years of his life. He would 'tape' the brush to his hand!! Can you believe it!. I heard his eyes were bad also? LyndaBob Murphy-- golfer.
