Since knee replacement 3 weeks ago I've had a severe flare.  Prior to yesterday the last Remicade infusion was 7 weeks ago and last MXT was 3 weeks prior to surgery.

In the last 3 weeks I've increased my Pred. from 7.5 mg. to 20.0 mg., and started MXT inject. one week post op. I just had my Remicade infusion yesterday.

In less than 24 hours the swelling and pain have decreased by 50% from the day before!  Within 24 hours I'm so much better.  I was anxious because I wasn't sure that the meds would start working again.  I didn't want to get my hopes up.  My usual optimistic nature succumbed to pessimism.  My status isn't the same as post surgery but I'm headed in the right direction.

My knee has very little swelling, staples came out on Monday, no redness, and hardly any pain - just some twinges.  It's amazing.  I have a small limp but that to will go away with a little more time.  I've walked through out the grocery store.  Only use my cane when I'm in a crowd because I tilt if someone brushes against me or runs into me.  But that will go away once I get all my strength back.  Being in a flare has fatigued me and it's going to take another week or so to get it under control. I slept yesterday afternoon after my infusion and injection, and have slept for 2 hours this afternoon.  Love those naps.

I just wanted to share with you that my meds have started to work and that all is well.  I haven't posted much but have been reading.  Lindy

Great news!!!  Glad to hear it

I bet it was invigorating to walk through the grocery store, wasn't it!? Good news Lindy - Keep up the good and careful work. Hi Lindy, Hurray! As everyone kept reminding me don't start overdoing , now that you feel better, be careful. LyndaGreat news Lindy! I'm glad the meds have kicked right back in, and ESPECIALLY glad to hear you've already advanced to grocery shopping and limited use of the cane. You ROCK girl!

That is wonderful news Lindy! I remember after shoulder surgery, I had to have sons walk in front of me to keep people from bashing into me in public. You would think the sling would give 'em a clue. I hope the healing continues!!!!
